Recently, the UCC Women Graduates’ Association welcomed award-winning chef, writer, speaker, founder and UCC alum, Orla McAndrew Food, to the Boole Library for an engaging and inspiring discussion on food culture, sustainability, hospitality and modern life.
Orla is a passionate advocate for better food systems and is a leading voice in the conversation around food waste, circular economy practices and the cultural role of hospitality in modern Ireland. With huge thanks to Orla and the UCC Women Graduates’ Association for a wonderful evening of thoughtful conversation and enriching interaction!

🌏 When you can't make it home for the reunion, you bring the reunion to you!
Kevin Conlon (Medicine '16) organised a special gathering in Melbourne for UCC Medicine 2016 alumni based in Australia, New Zealand, and South America, ahead of the class's official 10-year reunion in September. One flew in from Auckland, two made a 3-plus-hour drive from rural Victoria, and one arrived straight from South America the day before, all for a night of reminiscing and catching up with old friends. 💚
The UCC spirit endures, as connections last no matter where in the world life takes you. 🥂

UCC alum Seán Ronayne will take to the stage at the Fair Seas World Ocean Week Conference in City Hall on June 3. Renowned for his work recording the sound of every bird species in Ireland, Seán will share a powerful coastal soundscape highlighting both the beauty of Ireland’s seas, and how much we stand to lose without stronger marine protection.

🎓 BComm Class of 1981 – 45th Anniversary Reunion
It was wonderful to welcome back the BComm Class of 1981 to UCC to celebrate their 45th anniversary. Alumni travelled from the Netherlands, UK, Derry, Kerry, Donegal, Limerick and Dublin, as well as Cork to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate lasting friendships forged at UCC.
"Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special reunion. 💚
The catch up and chats were easy and we got some nice emails and messages over the past 36 hours thanking us, saying how enjoyable it was and wondering if we are organising a 50th one!"
- Richard Healy, one of the BComm Class of 1981 organisers
