A very special handover of our Crochet Ladies gift of the ‘Tree Of Life’ to the Presentation Sisters as part of the 250 years celebration of Nano Nagle’s work.

Thanks to Sr Margaret, Sr Mary & to Sr Grace for receiving the gift on behalf of the Presentation Sisters.

‘We are Proud to present this Crochet Artwork Piece in Honour of The Presentation Sisters 250yr Celebration.

It has been thoughtfully created by The Crochet Ladies at The Lantern Project.
It is woven in the threads that bring the foundational roots of the Organisations Ethos into full bloom, impacting all those around them.

Each stitch represents care, dedication & appreciation for all the work that began with Nano Nagle & thankfully continues through the Presentation Sisters to this day.

We Honour & Celebrate you all

The most beautiful working lunch at our Maria Young Green Spaces For Health committee meeting

Thanks to the lovely people SHEP who hosted us.

So many good things being done in the city but so much more is needed. Do what you can today to save our beautiful world !

✅ Plant for pollinators
✅ Let some grass grow wild
✅ Avoid pesticides
✅ Provide water for wildlife ( a pond if possible)
✅ Walk, cycle, or take public transport

Small actions. Big impact. Together we can help bees, birds, biodiversity, and cleaner air across Cork. 🌿🐝🐦

A night in the company of Cork’s finest people at the Lord Mayor’s Civic, Culture & Community Wards at City Hall Cork June 10th

Nano Nagle place was well represented with Saoirse (supported by Cork Migrant Centre ) — Ethnic Hands On Deck Saoirse- Ethnic Hands On Deck won the community award in the category of Social Enterprise Innovation & the Lantern was shortlisted in the Community Development & Lifelong learning category.

We were so thrilled to have our friends Dillons Cross be honoured in our catagory.

There were so many incredible people & community groups honored on the night but Olive Morris has a place in our hearts as she was such a kind presence at Cork Penny Dinners, the Cork High Hopes choir & in her own work with young people throughout the years.

Also the wonderful Grant & Gerry Cork Pops Orchestra got a magician’s recognition for there outreach to the Cork people & beyond bringing devine music to the masses.

Thanks to Cork City Council & all the staff at City Hall for the heartfelt welcome, the doors of our city hall were open wide like the hearts of all the people that were in attendance.
