Thanks to Buncrana/Cockhill Community Garden for having me out to facilitate workshops for their PeacePlus programme.

We have limited spaces left for our next monthly workshop taking place here at the garden on Saturday 27th June.

This workshop will look at saving rainwater and effective ways a irrigating your garden throughout the year by mulching.

Plus we will do a mini masterclass on softwood cuttings !!

Members can use their codes for free place and non members can book for 15 euro.

🌿 Summer Garden & Kitchen Workshops! 🍓👩‍🍳

​This summer, we are teaming up with the amazing Sian from Wild Fuschia Bakehouse to bring you a unique series of collaborative workshops that connect the garden directly to the kitchen.

​If you’ve ever wanted to master both growing and cooking your own food, these immersive, hands-on classes are for you. We will take you through how to grow, care for, and cook stunning fruits, vegetables, and even edible flowers!

​Each workshop runs from 10am to 2pm right here at OURganic Gardens in Gortahork, and includes a delicious lunch, exclusive recipes to take home, and a special goodie bag. ✨

​🌱 Saturday 18th July – Herbs
Learn the power of herbs! We’ll cover crafting herb & seasoned salts, whipping up fresh Salsa Verde & Chimichurri, and growing organic herbs from seed and in pots.

​🍓 Sunday 26th July – Fruit
Indulge in summer fruits! Master a classic crème pâtissière and glaze for fruit tarts, alongside expert tips on growing soft fruit from cuttings, feeding, and maintenance.

​🧺 Saturday 8th August – Foraging
Discover the flavours of the hedgerow. We’ll be making Strawberry & Elderflower Jam and a classic Blackberry Crumble, plus learning how to propagate your own Elderflower plants.

​🥬 Sunday 23rd August – Heritage
Celebrate Heritage Week with us! Dip into traditions through seeds and preserves, featuring slow-cooked chutneys, pickles, and a celebration of local legends like the Gortahork Cabbage and Lumper Potatoes.
