Dear YMHFA supporter,
Mental Health First Aid Ireland is delighted to announce an in-person Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) course for Parents, Carers and Guardians. This course will take place in St. John of God University Hospital on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th July 2026. There is no cost to attend this course as the course fees are fully funded through our partnership with the HSE.
The YMHFA course is designed for adults who live with, work with or support young people and young adults. This course teaches participants how to assist a young person who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence-based action plan. YMHFA is particularly suited to parents/guardians, school staff, sports coaches, community group leaders and youth workers as well as those supporting young people in the workplace, in apprenticeships and on work placements.
We encourage you to share this information widely with those in your network who would benefit from this in-demand training.

Presentation Secondary School Warrenmount would like to express its condolences on the recent passing of Tomi Reichental at the age of 90. Holocaust survivor, Tomi, was born to Jewish farmers in Czechoslovakia in 1935. He and his family were deported to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany in 1944. Tomi lost 35 close family members in the Holocaust and later dedicated much of his life to ensuring that future generations would never forget that dark chapter in history.
Tomi moved to the Republic of Ireland in 1959, where he made his home in Dublin. On Thursday 3rd May 2018 he visited our school and spoke with great honesty and courage about his experiences to a deeply attentive and moved audience.
His visit left a lasting impression on all of our students and staff. Through his words, he reminded us of the importance of empathy, tolerance and standing against hatred in all its forms. His legacy lives on in the memories he shared and the lessons he imparted to all who had the privilege of hearing him speak.

Safe to say there were plenty of takes, plenty of laughs, and enough star power to raise everyoneβs heart rate. Thankfully, everyone gave it their heart.
