Important Weather Advisory Update (Thursday, 25 June, 2026)

The National Severe Weather & Flooding Coordination Group met with key stakeholders this morning to prepare for the conditions forecast for Ireland over the next two days.

Two separate weather related risks have been highlighted for the next 48 hours:

1. Extremely high temperatures (increased risk of heat-related illness and dehydration)
2. Heavy thunderstorms (potential for localised flooding, lightning, and hazardous conditions)

The Director of the National Directorate of Fire and Emergency Management (NDFEM) is urging the public to stay informed and take appropriate precautions.
