A huge, well done to 3rd year Arts students Reyne, Cara, Nela, and Melania who researched, created, and produced our very first episode of LCC Literary Podcast. ๐ŸŽ™๐ŸŽ™๐ŸŽ™
The episode aptly titled 'Venetian Shenanigans' is an insightful discussion on 3rd year prescribed English text 'The Merchant of Venice.' ๐Ÿžโ›ต๏ธ
We hope to build on this podcast series next term with the idea being to have a library of literary podcasts for students to use when studying for their junior and leaving cert exams! A far more entertaining way to recap upon our studied texts, we think you'll agree!๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ
If you're interested in getting involved in creating a podcast next term, let us know, we would love to hear your ideas๐Ÿ’ก!

On Friday we were delighted to attend the book launch of โ€œInfictedโ€, a publication our TY students have been working on with Fighting Words ๐Ÿ“š. Each week a group of students from Larkin CC and three other inner city schools attended Fighting Words to work with professional writers including to compose their own short stories which were compiled in an anthology and published for purchase in-house and online. We are super proud of our future authors Coco, Ewa, Arianne, Rejoice, Elena, Whitney, Lohanne, Jamila, Felix, Misha, Danas, Wilker and Hemish. A special shoutout to Mark at Fighting Words for the amazing opportunity โค๏ธ thank you so much to Ms Meehan who gave up a lot of her spare time to plan this amazing opportunity!

Larkin CC was proud to stand at the Dรกil in silence for 920 seconds, sounding a gong and holding cards which students and staff made with red hearts on them with the names of each baby written on the cards. A letter washanded into the Dรกil to express our sadness that the Government has given permission to build on Bessborough and not to turn the Mother and Baby Home into a memorial for those who suffered and who died there โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
