We are pleased to share that Anuja Krishna, Shivaani Arunprasad, and Vanya Hegde, undergraduate students from the BSc in Environmental Science and Sustainability programme at Azim Premji University, have been selected for the 2026 Avery Dennison Foundation EnviroChamp Fellowship.

The fellowship supports young women in India working towards environmental sustainability through financial support, professional development, and opportunities for learning and engagement.

As conversations on climate resilience continue across the country, we bring you glimpses from the launch of Azim Premji University's 'Indian Coastal Region: Climate Projections 2021 - 2040' report held at Mumbai Press Club (29 May) and Chennai Press Club (5 June). The report paints a realistic picture for communities along India’s 11,000-km coastline, warning of escalating climate pressures on livelihoods and ecosystems.

The report underscores the need for urgent local adaptation and resilience-building. Some of its key findings are:

- 1.5°C warming projected across coastal districts
- Up to 6 extra days of heavy rainfall in Mumbai
- More intense monsoons along the Maharashtra and Gujarat coasts
- Rising heat stress affecting coastal communities
