🌿 NSS Special Camp – Inauguration Ceremony | Day 1 🌿

The NSS Special Camp commenced successfully with the arrival of volunteers at the camp venue and completion of accommodation arrangements. The inaugural programme was conducted with dignity and enthusiasm.

The ceremony was graced by our esteemed Academic Administrator, Dr. D. L. Maheshwar, along with Shri. Manjunath, Gram Panchayat Member, Shri. Ashok (Senior Villager), and Shri. Gubbanna.

The programme was inaugurated by watering a plant, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and commitment towards community service.

Our NSS Programme Officer, Mr. Nataraja B.S., introduced the objectives and agenda of the camp, outlining the activities planned to promote social responsibility and rural development.

The dignitaries addressed the gathering and extended their best wishes, motivating the volunteers to actively participate and make the camp meaningful and impactful.

The camp has begun on a positive and inspiring note, reflecting the true spirit of NSS — “Not Me, But You.”

🌿 ಎನ್‌ಎಸ್‌ಎಸ್ ವಿಶೇಷ ಶಿಬಿರ – ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭ | ಮೊದಲ ದಿನ 🌿

ಎನ್‌ಎಸ್‌ಎಸ್ ವಿಶೇಷ ಶಿಬಿರದ ಮೊದಲ ದಿನ ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶಿಬಿರ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ವಸತಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಭರಿತವಾಗಿ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲೂ ಹೊಸ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ, ಹೊಸ ಜೋಶ್ ಕಾಣಿಸಿತು.

ಈ ಶುಭ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ಡಿ. ಎಲ್. ಮಹೇಶ್ವರ ಸರ್ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದರು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್, ಹಿರಿಯ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಶೋಕ್ ಸರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಶ್ರೀ ಗುಬ್ಬಣ್ಣ ಅವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಗೌರವ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದರು.

ಸಸಿಗೆ ನೀರು ಹಾಕುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಲಾಯಿತು 🌱. ಇದು ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ, ಪರಿಸರ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವೆಯ ನಮ್ಮ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿದೆ.

ನಮ್ಮ ಎನ್‌ಎಸ್‌ಎಸ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ನಟರಾಜ ಬಿ.ಎಸ್. ಸರ್ ಅವರು ಶಿಬಿರದ ಉದ್ದೇಶಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯಯೋಜನೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯ ನೀಡಿ, ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಲಿರುವ ಸೇವಾ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.

ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಬಿರಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಧೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬಿ, “ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿ, ಊರಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಹೆಸರು ತಂದುಕೊಡಿ” ಎಂದು ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು. ಅವರ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹದ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲೂ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಸ್ಪೂರ್ತಿ ತುಂಬಿದವು.

ಎನ್‌ಎಸ್‌ಎಸ್ ಧ್ಯೇಯವಾದ “ನಾನು ಅಲ್ಲ – ನೀನು” ಎಂಬ ಮನೋಭಾವದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶಿಬಿರವು ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಆರಂಭ ಪಡೆದಿದೆ. 💚

🌱 NAVANKURA – The Sprouting of New Beginnings 🌱
On 24/01/2026, our institute joyfully celebrated Freshers’ Welcome Day for the newly joined students.
True to its title “Navankura” – the sprouting seeds, the program symbolized growth, hope, and new journeys.
The event began beautifully with watering a plant, marking the nurturing of young minds.
We were honored by the presence of Dr. Narayan Swami Sir,
Head of Farmers Training, UAS GKVK, Bengaluru, whose highly motivating and inspiring speech energized every fresher and set the tone for a meaningful academic journey.
Our Dean Sir shared encouraging words, and the freshers were warmly welcomed through poetry, creativity, and heartfelt expressions.
The celebration was filled with innovative concepts, a vibrant ramp walk by freshers, fun games, and energetic dance performances.
The enthusiasm of seniors and batchmates turned the day into a collection of happy moments and lasting memories 💫

🌱 ನವಾಂಕುರ – ಹೊಸ ಮೊಳಕೆಯ ಆರಂಭ 🌱
24/01/2026 ರಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಫ್ರೆಶರ್ಸ್ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟ ಹೆಸರು “ನವಾಂಕುರ”, ಅಂದರೆ ಹೊಸ ಮೊಳಕೆ – ಹೊಸ ಬದುಕಿನ ಶುರು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಒಂದು ಗಿಡಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ಹಾಕುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಇದು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು.

ಸರಳ ಆಟಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ನೃತ್ಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದವು.

ಇಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದ ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಡೀನ್ ಡಾ. ಸೆಂಥಿಲ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ರಾಧಾಕೃಷ್ಣನ್ ಸರ್ ಅವರು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

🇮🇳 National Voters’ Day | Oath Taking Ceremony 🗳️
On 23rd January, the GPS Institute of Agricultural Management observed National Voters’ Day by conducting a Voters’ Oath Taking Programme to promote democratic values and create awareness about the importance of voting.
The programme was organized by the Literary Club, where students, faculty members, and staff actively participated and took a pledge to uphold the values of the Indian Constitution and exercise their right to vote responsibly.
Together, we stand committed to building a strong, aware, and responsible democracy.

ಜನವರಿ 23ರಂದು, GPS ಕೃಷಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಣಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮತದಾರರ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತದಾನದ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಮತದಾರರ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ವಚನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ, ಭಾರತದ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತವಾಗಿ ಮತದಾನ ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ವಚನ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದರು.
ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಬಲಿಷ್ಠ, ಜಾಗೃತ ಮತ್ತು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

GPS Institute of Agricultural Management is celebrating the 155th Gandhi Jayanti by honoring our Father of the Nation Honourable, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Mohandas Gandhi was the leader of the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India. Mohandas Gandhi has been called contemporary, post-colonial sovereign India's Father of the Nation, a title first given to him by Subhas Chandra Bose on 6 July 1944.

Honorable, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was an Indian lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist, and political ethicist who employed nonviolent resistance to lead the successful campaign for India's independence from British rule. He inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.

On this auspicious occasion, we honored our national leader with more pride and dedication, the occasion was more fulfilling when our students shared the potential and challenging path taken by our national leader Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi for our country's independence.

"To safeguard democracy the people must have a keen sense of independence, self-respect, and their oneness."

With understanding the above quote our Honorable, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi's birth occasion pleasantly ended up with the spreading of the persistent memories of Gandhi ji along with the distribution of sweets to our faculties, students and non-teaching staff.

Exposure visit for the students of 2nd semester B.Sc. (Hons.) Agricultural Skill and Entrepreneurship to Indo-American Hybrid Seeds, RR Nagar, Bengaluru plant tissue culture lab and tissue culture hardening under greenhouse.

The purpose of the visit is to understand the working nature of the plant tissue culture lab and techniques involved in the tissue culture of various crops.

The senior scientist explained the criteria to be considered during explant collection and its sterilization technique.
Students are encouraged by the senior scientist with the stages of tissue culture viz., Initiation stage, Multiplication stage, Rooting and shooting stage and media preparation and hardening techniques.

Importance of growth regulators in root initiation and shoot initiation and the availability of standard procedure for various commercial crops.

Students got an opportunity to learn about the importance and procedure involved in the primary hardening and secondary hardening of tissue-cultured plant under a greenhouse.

At the end of the session, the students visited the nursery of various fruit and ornamental crops.

We are thankful for the Indo-American Hybrid Seeds.

We visited IIHR's 58th foundation day along with our students. We were the part of inaugural of the Advanced Training Centre. Dr. Rakesh Chandra Agrawal, Deputy Director General, Education Division, ICAR, New Delhi, was Chief Guest, Dr. R. Gopakumar, Director, ICTS- TIFR, Bengaluru was Guest of Honour. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General, Horticultural Sciences, ICAR, New Delhi, presided over the function in the presence of Dr. Tusar Kanti Behera, Director, ICAR-IIHR, and Dr. Prakash Patil, Project Co-ordinator-Fruits, Bengaluru. The Directors and Regional Heads of ICAR Institutes situated at Bengaluru, staff and students of IIHR, invitee farmers and entrepreneurs attended the programme.

At the outset, Director Dr. T.K. Behera welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the progress made by the institute over the past year. He noted that several of the institute's varieties have been released and notified by agencies such as the SVRC and CVRC. Additionally, thirteen of the institute's varieties of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and medicinal crops were recently dedicated to the nation by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji.

Dr. R.C. Agrawal delivered the Foundation Day lecture on “Horticulture Education and Employment Opportunities in Amritkal,” emphasizing the importance of technology and education. He highlighted that agricultural education in India is undergoing a transition towards innovative reforms, including the use of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and advanced research techniques such as genome editing tools to enhance the development of horticultural crops for the benefit of farmers and other stakeholders.

During the 58th Foundation Day celebrations, staff members were honored and awarded in various categories for their excellence. Innovative farmers were recognized for their role as ambassadors of the institute’s technologies, and licensees of these technologies were also acknowledged.

Additionally, past staff members were commemorated for their contributions to the institute. Certificates and awards were given to winners of sports events and school quiz competitions. The occasion also saw the release of seven publications and the exchange of seven MoUs. The dignitaries inaugurated the postgraduate school students' mess and laid the foundation stone for an advanced training center for farmers and other stakeholders. Dr. Prakash Patil concluded the event with a vote of thanks.

Finally, our Dean Dr. Senthilkumar Radhakrishnan and students interacted with Dr. Rakesh Chandra Agrawal, Deputy Director General, Education Division, ICAR, New Delhi.

Our Students visited the National Insect Museum with 2nd-semester students. Students were led under the guidance of Dr. Rajagopal, Scientist.

The insect museum is very much equipped with facilities for dry/wet and cryopreservation, mobile racks with insect boxes for long-term storage and a state-of-the-art training facility.

The museum was home to agriculturally important insect specimens of around 378 different specimens.

It helps the students and taxonomists to study the insect specimens in detail.

Our students got the opportunity to observe a few different insects like stink bugs, weevils, jewel beetles, insect singers – Cicadas, bio-agents that were used for mass production, types of lac insects, different types of pollinators – butterflies, honey bees; w**d killers – Hustache, Warner, Pallister; Silk moths and predators like pray mantids and ladybird beetles.
