*बरकतुल्लाह विश्वविद्यालय का नाम बदलना आज़ादी की साझी विरासत और मुसलमानों के योगदान पर हमला है!*

बरकतुल्लाह विश्वविद्यालय का नाम बदलने का प्रस्ताव मुस्लिम स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों की याद को मिटाने और आज़ादी की साझी विरासत को कमज़ोर करने की एक निंदनीय कोशिश है। यह शैक्षणिक संस्थानों के भगवाकरण और इतिहास को राजनीतिक उद्देश्यों के लिए नए सिरे से गढ़ने की चिंताजनक प्रवृत्ति को दर्शाता है।

मौलाना बरकतुल्लाह भोपाली भारत के महान क्रांतिकारियों में से एक थे। वे एक निडर उपनिवेश-विरोधी नेता थे और 1915 में काबुल में स्थापित अस्थायी भारत सरकार के पहले प्रधानमंत्री रहे। अपने अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रयासों, लेखन और राजनीतिक संघर्ष के माध्यम से उन्होंने अपना पूरा जीवन भारत की आज़ादी के लिए समर्पित कर दिया। विश्वविद्यालय का नाम उनके त्याग, क़ुर्बानियों और स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन में उनके योगदान की उचित पहचान है।

उनका नाम हटाना केवल एक प्रशासनिक फ़ैसला नहीं है, बल्कि उनकी विरासत का अपमान और भारत की आज़ादी की लड़ाई में मुसलमानों की ऐतिहासिक भूमिका को हाशिये पर डालने की एक सोची-समझी कोशिश है। ऐसे समय में जब विश्वविद्यालयों को शिक्षा की गुणवत्ता, शोध और बुनियादी सुविधाओं पर ध्यान देना चाहिए, तब ऐसे विभाजनकारी क़दम समाज में सांप्रदायिक ध्रुवीकरण को और बढ़ाते हैं।

हम इस प्रस्ताव की कड़ी निंदा करते हैं और इसे तत्काल वापस लेने की मांग करते हैं। मौलाना बरकतुल्लाह भोपाली की विरासत को पूरी गरिमा और सम्मान के साथ संरक्षित किया जाना चाहिए और हमारे शैक्षणिक संस्थान भारत की साझी विरासत और समावेशी मूल्यों के प्रतीक बने रहने चाहिए।

The decision of the NTA to postpone the CUET UG examination scheduled for May 28, coinciding with Eid al-Adha, is a welcome and considerate step. SIO had earlier submitted a representation to the NTA urging the rescheduling of the examination in view of the difficulties faced by students.

National-level examinations attended by lakhs of students across the country should be planned with greater sensitivity towards major religious and cultural occasions. Conducting examinations and important interviews on or around festival days places unnecessary stress and logistical difficulties on students, particularly in matters related to travel, family responsibilities, and participation in religious observances.

Authorities entrusted with academic administration must adopt a more student-centric and inclusive approach while preparing examination schedules. Anticipating such concerns in advance and taking timely corrective measures is essential to ensure fairness, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all students.
