An exceptional child is not given to an exceptional parent; rather, an exceptional parent is created by an exceptional child.

There are moments that go beyond words, filling a room with an energy so pure, it stays with you long after. Today the campus witnessed an outpouring of love, pride, and deep emotion as we celebrated Father’s Day.

Behind every milestone, every quiet victory, and every step forward stands a father whose love is unconditional, whose patience is a sanctuary, and whose strength is a quiet force. Today was dedicated to these incredible fathers.

"Balance is not something you find; it's something you create."

With calm minds and positive energy, our learners at KiiTIS SEN Globe embraced the practice of yoga. Beyond building focus and physical balance, yoga gently helps regulate the nervous system, supports motor coordination, and enhances sensory awareness in a soothing, structured space.

At KiiTIS SEN Globe, every unique step toward well-being, mindfulness, and self-awareness is a step worth celebrating.

A Day of Learning, Acceptance & Hope.

KiiTIS SEN Globe, in association with the Down Syndrome Association Odisha Chapter, successfully organized a parent workshop led by Dr. Surekha Ramachandran, President, Down Syndrome Federation of India, Chennai.

Dr. Ramachandran inspired parents to embrace acceptance, celebrate their children's individuality, and focus on their strengths rather than limitations. She emphasized that every child deserves opportunities, respect, and an equitable place in society.

The session also highlighted the power of coming together as a community to support individuals with Down syndrome and create a more inclusive world. Following the workshop, Dr. Ramachandran and her team interacted individually with parents and children, offering valuable guidance and addressing their specific concerns.

The biggest takeaway: Inclusivity cannot be forced; it grows naturally when we accept our children's special needs, recognize their unique abilities, and nurture their potential.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Jagat Pani, Secretary Down Syndrome Association Odisha Chapter and Ms. Subhashree Pani for coordinating this event and bringing these families together.

ICBBI 2026 | Panel Discussion 1
Inclusion Beyond Intent: Bridging Lived Realities, Mindsets, and Systems

One of the most thought-provoking conversations at ICBBI 2026 centred on a critical question: How do we move beyond good intentions and create systems that genuinely support inclusion?

Bringing together the expertise and perspectives of Dr. Surekha Ramachandran, Dr. Shekhar Seshadri, Ms. Mugdha Kalra, Prof. Keith Perera, and Mr. Anand S., the panel explored the realities of inclusion beyond institutional commitments. Thoughtfully moderated by Ms. Alee Padhy, the discussion brought together diverse viewpoints and experiences to examine how inclusive practices can be strengthened through collective action, responsive systems, and a deeper understanding of lived realities.

The conversation highlighted the importance of shifting mindsets, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring meaningful participation, and creating support systems that respond to the diverse needs of neurodivergent individuals and persons with disabilities. A recurring theme throughout the session was that inclusion is not merely a policy objective—it is a daily practice reflected in attitudes, accessibility, relationships, and opportunities.

As the discussion unfolded, it became increasingly evident that meaningful inclusion cannot be achieved through isolated efforts. It requires continuous dialogue, shared responsibility, and the willingness to challenge existing systems in pursuit of more equitable futures. Conversations such as these are vital—not only because they deepen our understanding of inclusion, but because they inspire the collective action necessary to transform intention into lasting impact.

ICBBI 2026 brought together educators, researchers, rehabilitation professionals, policymakers, and community stakeholders to engage in meaningful conversations surrounding inclusive education and equitable learning practices. The conference created a space for collaboration, exchange of ideas, and critical discussions on strengthening accessibility, innovation, and inclusion across educational and rehabilitation settings.

We were honoured to invite Dr. Keith Perera, Head of Education, University of Sussex, for a keynote session on “The Opportunities and Challenges of EdTech for Inclusive Practice.” Through his address, Dr. Perera reflected on the transformative role of educational technology in creating more accessible, adaptive, and inclusive learning environments. His keynote highlighted how EdTech enhanced participation, personalised learning experiences, and bridged educational gaps, while also critically examining challenges related to accessibility, equity, implementation, and digital inclusion.

The keynote meaningfully connected with the ongoing work at SEN Globe, KiiT International School, where technology-supported interventions, inclusive teaching methodologies, and student-centred learning approaches remain integral to educational practice. The discussion reinforced the importance of using technology not merely as a tool for instruction, but as a medium for accessibility, participation, and empowerment within inclusive classrooms.

ICBBI served as a platform for meaningful dialogue on strengthening inclusive practices across educational and rehabilitation settings by bringing together educators, researchers, rehabilitation professionals, policymakers, and community stakeholders. The conference promoted collaboration, innovation, and evidence-based practices that support equitable learning opportunities for all learners while encouraging conversations that shape the future of inclusive education.

We were honoured to invite Prof. Simon Thompson, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of Sussex UK, for Keynote Address – 1 on the topic: “Does Differentiation Really Mean Different? Rethinking Inclusive Pedagogy.” Through his keynote, Prof. Thompson reflected on the need to move beyond the traditional understanding of differentiation as simply creating “different” learning experiences for different learners. Instead, he emphasised building inclusive classrooms where accessibility, participation, shared learning, and belonging become central to the educational process. His keynote encouraged educators to critically rethink existing pedagogical approaches and recognise diversity as an essential foundation of meaningful education.

The ideas presented in the session strongly resonated with the vision and framework of SEN Globe, KiiT International School, where inclusive education is approached through structured support systems, learner-centred strategies, collaborative practices, and individualised learning pathways. The keynote closely aligned with the institution’s educational philosophy, intervention mapping, and inclusive classroom models that aim to ensure every learner is meaningfully engaged, supported, and empowered within mainstream educational spaces.
