🌟 Almost halfway through 2026 — how are your goals going?

With the long weekend here and the first six months of the year almost behind us, it’s a good time to pause and check in.

Maybe you started the year wanting to build more confidence, speak more clearly, meet new people, take on a new challenge, or grow your leadership skills.

Or maybe life got busy, and some of those goals quietly slipped into the background.

The good news is — the second half of the year is a great time to refresh, try something new, and take a small step forward.

At Calicut Toastmasters, members practise communication and leadership in a friendly, supportive environment. That can include:

🎤 speaking more confidently
🗣️ explaining ideas clearly
🤝 meeting and connecting with new people
👥 learning how to manage meetings
💼 building interview and workplace communication skills
🌱 developing leadership skills
💬 giving and receiving helpful feedback

You do not need to be an experienced speaker to come along. Most people start because they want to improve.

TM Dr. Roshanara hails from Feroke and currently resides in Mankavu. She completed her medical education and post-graduation in Obstetrics & Gynecology from Calicut Medical College. She began her professional journey at Al Salama Hospital, Jeddah, and later dedicated many years to the field of Medical Oncology before retiring from MVR Cancer Center in 2023.

An avid reader of fiction, music enthusiast, and traveler, TM Dr. Roshanara brings with her a wealth of professional experience and life wisdom.

We are delighted to have you with us, Doctor. Wishing you an enriching and enjoyable Toastmasters journey filled with learning, growth, and meaningful connections.

Dr. Mithun is a scientist by training and an entrepreneur by profession. He is the CEO and Founder of Nanomatter Technologies Pvt. Ltd., an advanced semiconductor manufacturing company with operations in Bangalore and Berlin. He leads product development and commercialization efforts focused on next-generation materials and processes for high-performance semiconductors.

He is passionate about translational research, building high-performance teams, and scaling deep-tech ventures.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Mithun is also a hands-on dad to his six-year-old son.

Nazreen is a resident of Calicut and holds a postgraduate degree in English Language and Literature. She is an accomplished author who has published two poetry books—one in English and another in Malayalam. She has also worked as an online article writer.

At 62, Nazreen continues to embrace learning and personal growth with remarkable enthusiasm. Inspired to make life even more meaningful through activities that motivate and enrich her, she has chosen Toastmasters as part of her journey.
