The SPE AU ACT Chapter's PetroVision'26 event wrapped up successfully on March 3, 4 & 5 at Raman Auditorium, featuring 2 workshops, 5 events, and 5 guest lectures.

Event Recap:

Attendees enjoyed hands-on workshops, engaging events, and insights from 5 guest lectures hosted by the Department of Applied Science and Technology, ACTech, Anna University, Chennai-25.

This petroleum engineering symposium fostered knowledge-sharing and networking for students like you in drilling mud research and oil & gas projects.

Petrovision’26 wrapped up triumphantly after three days of innovation, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration in petroleum engineering. From inaugural insights and rig-floor workshops to alumni wisdom and technical deep dives, the event inspired students and professionals.

Day 3 celebrated our talented alumni through the Alumni Lecture Series, featuring Mr. Pranesh Gunasekaran' s insights on " Pipeline Engineering Techniques," followed by Ms. Rajarajeswari fundamentals of " Well Integrity ," and Ms. Padmaja Murugesan's strategies for " Coring and Core Analysis Data Management " .

Day 2 kicked off with engaging Group discussions , followed by insightful speech by Mr. Zulfir Sadat - director of Operations and Hr, Enerfac Solutions Private Limited, and Mr. Jayaprakash Chief Manager - Sales (Retail), BPCL, lecture unpacking "Advanced Fire and Safety in Petroleum Industry,"

Mr. Ramadoss Senior Manager, CPCL deep dive into "Sulphur Recovery Process Technology in CPCL," and Mr. Velpandian Mani Technical Consultant, Focus Project Consultants practical workshop on " Piping System Design Concepts " .

SPE AU ACT Student Chapter and Department of Applied Science and Technology proudly inaugurated Petrovision’26 with an inspiring ceremony graced by Chief Guest Mr. P. Senthilnathan, Joint General Manager – EHS, Larsen & Toubro Ship Building , Guest of Honour - Mr. Prakash Dayalan , Technical Operations Manager – WRFM Goa & Brazil, Shell plc, delivered insightful remarks, Mr. Pankaj Bhuyan, Secretary Spe Chennai section and GM(G), KG-PG Basin, ONGC unveiled BLACKGOLD — the annual magazine of Petrovision’26.

The ceremony commenced with the soulful Tamil Thaai Vazhthu and the traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, symbolizing knowledge and new beginnings. Profound opening remarks were delivered by " Dr. J. Jayapriya ", Head of the Department of Applied Science and Technology, whose words resonated with enthusiasm and academic spirit.

The session kicked off an exciting technical journey, emphasizing innovation, industry collaboration, and lifelong learning in petroleum and energy engineering. Their motivational insights inspired students to tackle emerging opportunities and challenges in the energy sector.

This was followed by Mr. Sundara Moorthy’s guest lecture on "The Powerhouse of Tomorrow: Refining, the Heart of Energy Transition." The afternoon featured a hands-on workshop, "Precision on the Rig Floor: Mud Logging Sensors & Carbide Evaluation," led by Dr. S. Subramanian.

The day set a promising tone for the symposium, urging participants to dive into upcoming technical sessions and activities.
