India's artificial intelligence ecosystem has received a major boost with two significant announcements spanning both AI software and infrastructure.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with Anthropic to help enterprises adopt AI at scale, including training thousands of employees on Claude AI and developing industry-specific AI solutions for sectors such as finance, healthcare, telecom, retail, and public services.

At the same time, Reliance Industries and Meta have announced plans for a major AI-focused data centre project in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The initiative will be supported by more than 900 MW of renewable energy capacity, strengthening the infrastructure needed to power next-generation AI applications and large-scale computing.

Together, these developments underscore India's growing role in the global AI race—not just as a hub for AI talent and innovation, but also as a destination for the advanced digital infrastructure required to support the future of artificial intelligence.

India has achieved a major milestone in defence manufacturing as the first Made-in-India C-295 military transport aircraft successfully completed its maiden test flight from the Tata-Airbus facility in Vadodara, Gujarat. The achievement marks a significant step forward in strengthening indigenous aerospace and defence production.

The aircraft is the first of 40 C-295 transport planes that will be manufactured in India for the Indian Air Force under the Airbus-Tata partnership. The Middle East crisis has entered a volatile new phase as fresh military exchanges between Iran and the United States raise fears of a broader regional conflict. Reports indicate that both sides have carried out retaliatory strikes, while tensions involving Israel continue to add to the uncertainty.

A major concern is the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important oil shipping routes. Iran has warned of possible restrictions on maritime traffic through the strategic waterway, a move that could disrupt global energy supplies and push oil prices higher.

The escalation comes despite recent discussions around a possible ceasefire and diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions. With military activity increasing across the Gulf region and global markets closely watching developments, governments around the world are urging restraint to prevent the crisis from spiraling further.
