IIT Madras extends heartfelt congratulations to Prof. N.V. Ravi Kumar of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering on being awarded the “Academician of the World Academy of Ceramics” at the Formal Induction Ceremony of New Members during the CIMTEC 2026 Ceramics Congress in Perugia, Italy.
This award honours his original contributions in the field of precursor-derived ceramics and advances scientific research to commercialisation and incubation through the mentorship of young entrepreneurs.

Selected to represent India at Bharat Innovates 2026, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, being held in Nice, France, Agnikul is among a select group of deep-tech startups presenting breakthrough technologies to global investors, industry leaders, and research partners.
Founded at IIT Madras by Srinath Ravichandran, Co-founder & CEO, and Moin SPM, Co-founder & COO, under the guidance of Prof. Satyanarayanan Chakravarthy of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Madras, Agnikul is pioneering affordable, customizable access to space through its small-satellite launch vehicles.
Founded in 2017 and incubated at IIT Madras, the company achieved a historic milestone in 2024 with the launch of Agnibaan, powered by the world’s first single-piece 3D-printed semi-cryogenic rocket engine, Agnilet, from India’s first private launchpad.

Selected to represent India at Bharat Innovates 2026, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, being held in Nice, France, Quanfluence is among a select group of deep-tech startups showcasing breakthrough innovations to global investors, industry leaders, and research partners.
Founded by Mr Sujoy Chakravarty, Co-Founder and CEO; Mr Ravi Mehta, Co-Founder and COO; Mr Biman Chattopadhyay, Co-Founder and CTO; Ms Aditi Vaidya, Co-Founder; Prof Anil Prabhakar, IIT Madras, Co-Founder; and Prof. Sandeep Goyal, Co-Founder, IISER Mohali, and incubated at the IITM Incubation Centre, Quanfluence is building a scalable photonic quantum computing platform designed to deliver practical quantum advantage.
The company is developing a full-stack quantum ecosystem, including photonic quantum computers, coherent Ising machines, single-photon detectors, homodyne detectors, and quantum random number generators (QRNGs).
