Voices in Verse | CBSE Sahodaya Event
Students of Him Jyoti School participated in the Inter-School Poem Presentation Program hosted by Doon Heritage School on 12th May 2026 under the CBSE Sahodaya initiative.
The event brought together five schools and focused on poem presentation through theatre and expressive performances. Our students participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing creativity, confidence, expression, and teamwork.
The programme provided a wonderful platform for creative expression and inter-school interaction. All participants were awarded certificates and trophies by the host school.

Dental Awareness Camp at Him Jyoti School
Him Jyoti School organised a Dental Awareness Camp for students of Classes V to XII in collaboration with NextGenDentist, led by our alumna Ms. Nikita Sharma (Batch of 2016).
A team of doctors conducted dental check-ups for students and staff, while also sharing valuable tips on oral hygiene and healthy dental practices. The interactive session was both informative and engaging for everyone.
We thank Ms. Nikita Sharma and the NextGenDentist team for this thoughtful initiative.

Investiture Ceremony 2026–27 | Him Jyoti School
The Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2026–27 was held at the Him Jyoti School campus with dignity and pride, marking the formal induction of the new Prefectorial Body.
The ceremony began with a ceremonial march past, setting a tone of discipline and honour. The Head Girl, Swati Nathani, was the first to be conferred with her badge, followed by the prefects and vice prefects, symbolising the trust placed in them.
The oath-taking, led by the Principal, Mrs Ruma Malhotra, was a solemn moment as the student leaders pledged sincerity, responsibility, and commitment to the school’s values.
In her address, the Principal spoke about the essence of leadership rooted in integrity and accountability. The Head Girl, in her heartfelt speech, shared her resolve to lead with honesty and courage.
The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, marking the beginning of a new chapter of student leadership.

Voices That Inspire, Ideas That Transform!
Nine students from Him Jyoti School had the wonderful opportunity to attend a TEDx event at Welham Boys’ School on 2nd May.
The event featured a diverse line-up of inspiring speakers. Ashu Jain spoke about acceptance and the power of letting go, while Manish Tewari shared thought-provoking insights on the idea of a virtual civilisation. Ved Krishna highlighted pressing environmental concerns, and Tapas Sen spoke about creativity and innovation in media. The session by Rajendra Singh left a lasting impact, as he emphasised the urgent need for water conservation.

Exploring Science Beyond Classrooms at UNFOLD 2026
Our students recently participated in UNFOLD 2026, the third edition of the prestigious inter-school STEM competition hosted by Unison World School, Dehradun.
The event brought together young innovators from various schools, offering a dynamic platform to showcase scientific skills, creativity, and teamwork through hands-on challenges and real-life problem-solving activities.
We are delighted to share that our students secured 2nd position in Avocation-I: “Clean the Creek – Oil Spill Challenge”. The team impressed the judges with their practical model, thoughtful presentation, and confident responses.
While they also participated in Avocation-II: “Power Puff Challenge”, and did not secure a position, the experience was equally enriching and inspiring.
Well done, girls! Keep innovating and exploring!

Folk Vibes 2026 – A Proud Moment for Him Jyoti School
On 29 April 2026, our students participated in Folk Vibes, a vibrant inter-school folk dance competition hosted at Kasiga School, Dehradun.
A total of ten schools participated in the event, and a team of 14 girls from Him Jyoti School represented us with remarkable energy, grace, and coordination.
We are delighted to share that our team secured 3rd position in the competition! 🎉
The event was a wonderful platform for our students to showcase their talent, build confidence, and experience the spirit of healthy competition.

Him Jyoti School shines at the DPSG Cup! 🏆
Our team delivered an outstanding performance at the DPSG Cup Inter-School Tournament held from 28 April to 1 May, competing against 9 schools.
We began with a strong 6–0 win against Social Baluni School, followed by a convincing 5–0 victory over APS Clement Town in the semi-final. In a closely contested final, our team secured a 1–0 win against KV IMA to lift the trophy.
Consistent teamwork, discipline and determination defined the journey, and we are proud to have emerged as overall champions.
Congratulations to the team for this remarkable achievement! 👏

School of Entrepreneurship Workshop by Udhyam | 7 April 2026
Him Jyoti School hosted an engaging workshop under the School of Entrepreneurship program by Udhyam, led by Mr. Pankaj Wadhwa along with his team—Mr. Raju Laal, Mr. Hemant Gildiyal, Ms. Swara, Mr. Naveen, and Mr. Jeevan.
The session introduced students to diverse career pathways including entrepreneurship, freelancing, and traditional jobs through interactive discussions and a short film. The highlight was an inspiring interaction with the resource persons, who shared their personal journeys across varied fields, bringing in both insight and humour.
Students have now begun working on their own business ideas, which they will present during the team’s next visit in May.
The workshop was enriching and left the students motivated to think creatively and explore entrepreneurship as a meaningful career choice.

Doon Book Festival Visit | 6 April 2026
36 students participated in the Doon Book Festival at Parade Ground, Dehradun.
They attended two engaging workshops—one on bird conservation, where students worked in teams to create bird nests and were appreciated for their work, and another on traditional Aipan art of Uttarakhand, where each student created a beautiful piece and received praise for their creativity.
All participants received certificates, making it a meaningful day of learning, teamwork, and cultural connection.

On 19 March 2026, our girls visited the Doon Library & Research Centre to participate in a Madhubani Art Workshop. They were introduced to the origins and cultural significance of this traditional art form, including its connection to the Ramayana.
Through a hands-on session, students explored basic patterns, motifs, and techniques, creating their own artworks. It was an engaging experience that offered meaningful exposure to Indian art and encouraged creativity.
