𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐦 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢 𝐆𝐮𝐫𝐮 𝐑𝐚𝐦 𝐑𝐚𝐢 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲
𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢 𝐆𝐮𝐫𝐮 𝐑𝐚𝐦 𝐑𝐚𝐢 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 celebrated the 𝟏𝟐𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐲 with great enthusiasm on Sunday. On this occasion, students, faculty members and members of the university family participated in yoga practice as per the International Yoga Protocol.
The theme of Yoga Day 2026, “𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠,” aims to inspire people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and promote overall well-being.
During the programme, Sumir Gnawali, a student of the 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲, was honoured by the Vice Chancellor of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Prof. Dr. K. Prathapan, for his outstanding achievement. He recently brought global recognition and pride to 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢 𝐆𝐮𝐫𝐮 𝐑𝐚𝐦 𝐑𝐚𝐢 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 through his exceptional performance at the international level.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Om Narayan Tiwari, Dean of the 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲, said that yoga not only helps maintain physical and mental health but also enhances self-confidence & spreads positive energy. Dr. Tiwari, encouraged everyone to embrace yoga & move towards a healthier lifestyle.
Under the leadership of programme coordinator Dr. Surendra Rayal from the Yoga Department, students, faculty members & NCC cadets actively participated in the yoga session. They highlighted the benefits of various yogasanas and explained that yoga is an effective practice that helps channelise the energy of the body and mind in the right direction.
