The Day I Met My Dream Heroes
I extend my sincere and heartfelt thanks to my friend Col. Rohit Dev who invited me and my school students to the 1st Episode of the Sena Samvad at Manekshaw Auditorium, Delhi Cant. on 16th May 2026. Sena Samvad is a premier civil-military dialogue hosted by the forum Uniform Unveiled at the Manekshaw Centre / Auditorium (Delhi Cantonment). It serves as a bridge between the Indian Armed Forces, veterans, students, and citizens to strengthen national security awareness and foster civil-military bonds. It's a genuinely innovative idea to bring back the JOSH of PATRIOTISM.
Col. Rohit Dev’s “Fireside Chats" were really beyond comparison. Col. Rohit Dev’s articulated questions brought out the spirit and honour of the uniform which ignited fire of purpose in the senior school children and youth. I, myself, was extremely excited and charged like a teenager. The humility, the modesty and simplicity of these real life superheroes were real lessons to learn and imbibe. I ran like a mad young fan to take lifetime pictures with my heroes. I think I shall not be so excited to have a selfie or a photoshoot with a Bollywood Actor.
The first episode of the Sena Samvad featured prominent defense leadership and national figures.
Distinguished Speakers were Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi, Governor of Mizoram Gen. V.K. Singh, Governor of Bihar Lt. Gen. Syed Ata Hasnain, and Cabinet Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.
Key Sessions: Panel discussions assessed modern national security frameworks, future warfare (cyber/space/cognitive domains), and retaliatory military strategies.
Gen Z & The Military: Army Chief General Dwivedi highly praised the younger generation, stating they are "10 times better" and highly adaptable for the digital and data-centric future of the Indian Army.
Operation Sindoor: CDS Gen. Chauhan highlighted the precision, joint planning, and unprecedented battlefield transparency of India's recent military actions under Operation Sindoor.
The leadership lessons, values and the anecdotes of the selfless service to the nation shared by the superheroes in uniform dug deep into the minds and souls of the young citizens to decipher the ethos, spirit and the role of Indian armed forces beyond the battlefield.
From the Diary of our Principal, Mrs. Aditi Basu Roy.

Workshop on Childrens' Safety and Well-Being
Grads International School organized an informative and impactful workshop on “Children Safety and Well-Being: Sexual Abuse Prevention” for parents on Saturday, 9th May 2026 in collaboration with Project C**A. The session was conducted by Ms. Anshu Priya, Clinical Psychologist from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University. The workshop was also graced by the presence of Principal Aditi Basu Aditi Basu Roy who addressed the gathering and reiterated the school’s strong commitment towards ensuring a safe, secure, and emotionally supportive environment for every child.
The primary objective of the workshop was to equip parents with awareness, practical tools, and communication strategies to safeguard children and strengthen parent-child relationships. Ms. Anshu Priya highlighted the importance of using correct vocabulary for private body parts to help children communicate without fear or shame. She emphasized encouraging children to identify and express their feelings openly so they feel confident in sharing discomfort or unsafe experiences.
The session strongly reinforced the principle of “Do Not Blame the Child,” reminding parents that children are never responsible for abuse. Parents were guided on teaching children assertiveness, strong body language, and the confidence to say “NO” in uncomfortable situations. The concepts of bodily autonomy and personal boundaries were also discussed, stressing that every child has rights over their own body.
An important part of the workshop focused on building children’s self-esteem as a protective factor and helping them understand trusted relationships. Ms. Anshu Priya explained that abusers are often known individuals rather than strangers, making awareness and communication essential. Parents were encouraged to help children create a “Safety Circle” of five trusted adults they could approach in times of need.
The session also clarified the difference between secrets, gifts, and surprises, highlighting how secrecy can sometimes be misused to manipulate children. Strategies to manage fear, anxiety, and emotional distress in children were also discussed. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and an engaging Q&A session, parents found the workshop highly insightful and empowering.
The workshop concluded on a meaningful note, with parents gaining practical strategies to foster open conversations, emotional trust, and a secure environment for their children. Grads International School remains dedicated to promoting child safety, awareness, and holistic well-being through continuous collaboration with experts and meaningful educational initiatives.
