Every parent who receives an autism diagnosis begins a journey with one simple goal: to help their child.
In that moment, hope becomes powerful.
And unfortunately, hope can also become a target.
Parents are often exposed to endless promises:
• “Guaranteed results”
• “Rapid recovery”
• “Complete cure”
• “One therapy that changes everything”
When emotions are high, it is easy to believe the loudest voice in the room.
But good clinical practice is rarely loud.
It asks questions.
It measures progress.
It respects individuality.
It follows evidence.
And most importantly, it puts the child before the business.
As professionals, we have a responsibility to help families make informed decisions—not fearful decisions.
Before defending a method, investigate it.
Before promoting a treatment, evaluate the evidence.
Before making promises, remember that every child deserves honesty.
A child is not a project.
A child is not a product.
A child is not a revenue stream.
Autism is not a business opportunity.
It is a childhood.
And every childhood deserves ethical, compassionate, evidence-informed care.
