"Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body."
Intellectually stimulating and thought-provoking Storytelling and Creative Writing Workshop were organized at Sucheta Memorial School on 22 May 2026, in collaboration with the National Book Trust (NBT), India. The initiative aimed to foster reading habits, creative writing skills, and language skills among students through engaging literacy activities.
The event began with a storytelling session for Classes I to V, conducted by Ms. Kiran, who engaged the young learners with interesting stories and interactive narration techniques. Her interactive narration style thoroughly captivated the young learners. Thereafter, Ms. Neeta Joshi conducted a creative writing workshop for Classes VI to VIII. Herein, she guided students on various aspects of creative writing, imagination, and expression. Students eagerly applied these concepts in short, hands-on writing tasks.
Concluding the event, representatives of National Book Trust conducted an orientation on the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya digital library. Students explored its vast educational resources and received QR codes to easily scan, read, and purchase books online.
These workshops proved to be highly informative and beneficial as they provided students a wonderful platform to boost their communication skills. The Vice-Principal of the school expressed deep gratitude to the National Book Trust, India, and the resource persons for organizing such an enriching experience.

Dr. Sarvesh Satija, Director Principal of the school, led the oath taking ceremony and beautifully explained the verses of the pledge. Moreover, he inspired the gathering by sharing the school’s motto and academic theme for the session. Through the timeless story of Nachiketa, he guided students to embrace courage, commitment to dharma, wisdom, and righteousness. He reminded the newly elected council members to lead by example—practicing regularity, punctuality, sincerity, and above all, being loving, affectionate, and respectful to all. His vision emphasized that true leadership lies in being childlike at heart, unfolding oneself with humility and joy, while inspiring peers through action.
The Investiture Ceremony was not just about conferring titles—it was about igniting the flame of responsibility and shaping compassionate leaders of tomorrow.
