🚨 Selective Justice is Social Injustice 🚨
The Dalit Students’ Union, University of Hyderabad strongly condemns the continued failure of the Congress government and police administration to arrest Bandi Bhageerath in the POCSO case despite serious allegations and public outrage.
When the accused are poor, Dalit, Bahujan, or from oppressed communities, arrests happen immediately. But when politically influential individuals are involved, the law becomes slow, silent, and selective. This is not justice — this is discrimination.
Justice cannot depend on caste, money, or political power. No one should be above the law.
✊ We Demand:
• Immediate arrest of the accused
• Transparent and time-bound investigation
• Action against negligent police officials
• Equal implementation of law for all
Justice delayed is justice denied.

On this International Workers’ Day, Dalit Students’ Union, University of Hyderabad remembers the dignity of labour and the struggle for workers’ rights.
We draw inspiration from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who fought tirelessly for labour reforms, 8-hour workdays, equal pay, maternity benefits, and the abolition of bonded labour. For Babasaheb, political democracy was incomplete without social and economic democracy for workers, peasants, and the oppressed.
Today we reaffirm: Labour is not a commodity. Dignity, equality, and security are rights, not favours. In solidarity with all workers, from campuses to fields to factories.

Congratulations Dr Kumar Raja Kuchipudi
Dr. Kuchipudi Kumar Raja, an alumnus of the University of Hyderabad’s (UoH) at the Centre for English Language Studies (CELS), is appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Maths, Data Sciences, and English at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City (IIIT Sri City).
Dr. Raja Kuchipudi completed his PhD in English Language Studies from UoH (2025) under the supervision of Prof. Sunita Mishra. His doctoral research focused on fostering learner autonomy through the process approach in ESL writing. He also holds an M.A. in English (TESL) from EFLU, an M.A. in Education (Adult Education) from IGNOU, and a B.A. from Andhra Christian College, Acharya Nagarjuna University.
He has served as a Guest Faculty at the CELS, University of Hyderabad, as a Visiting Faculty at GITAM-Hyderabad, and as a Teaching Associate at TISS. He also completed an international teaching internship (Semester Exchange) at Asia University, under the TEEP fellowship sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan.
Dr. Raja Kuchipudi is a UGC‑JRF awardee in Adult Education and Education streams. He has qualified UGC‑NET in English, Education, and Adult Education.
His research has appeared in peer‑reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He has presented papers at national and international conferences, conducted teacher training/faculty development programs and served as a resource person for state and central civil services training at MCR HRD, Hyderabad.
We wish Dr. Kuchipudi Kumar Raja all the best in his new role at IIIT Sri City.
