ICRISAT recently hosted Dr Hemant Savara, Member of Parliament, and Shri Bhausaheb Andhare, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, at the Amazon-supported Natural Resource Management (NRM) cluster in Sathepada, , Maharashtra.

The visit showcased watershed development interventions, including soil and water conservation measures, water harvesting structures, and scientific monitoring systems designed to improve water security, soil health, and climate resilience.

The dignitaries interacted with project teams and local farmers and appreciated the contributions of ICRISAT, local communities, and Amazon in advancing sustainable rural development and resilient agriculture in the region.

ICRISAT represented at the Australia Awards–India Alumni Engagement Workshop!

Dr Kavitha Kasala, Associate Scientist – Transforming Agrifood Systems at ICRISAT, joined fellow Australia Awards alumni, grant recipients at the workshop held on 12 June 2026 in .

The workshop, organized by Australia Awards–India and the Australian High Commission, India and Bhutan, brought together alumni from diverse sectors to foster networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration for sustainable development.

The session brought together ICRISAT workforce from HQ (India) and regional offices in Africa and introduced participants to breathing techniques, mindfulness practices, restorative exercises, and meditation aimed at promoting mental well-being, focus, and inner balance.

ICRISAT participated in the 2nd KALRO Scientific Conference & Innovation Expo 2026 in .

The conference was held from 15–19 June 2026 under the theme “Innovations for Sustainable Agrifood Systems, Climate Change Resilience and Improved Livelihoods.”

A key highlight of the opening ceremony was the launch of and Bird-Resistant , bringing innovative technologies closer to farmers and strengthening food and nutrition security.

At the Expo, ICRISAT showcased innovations and partnerships that advance resilient , sustainable food systems, and improved livelihoods for smallholder farmers across Kenya and the region.

ICRISAT and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research will host Dryland Congress 2026 from 10–12 September 2026 in under the theme “Transforming Dryland Agriculture through South–South Cooperation.

The ICRISAT Centre of Excellence for South–South Cooperation in Agriculture (ISSCA) invites institutions from across the to submit proven and scalable agricultural technologies and solutions.

The awards recognise innovations across crop improvement, climate resilience, digital agriculture, livestock production, and agribusiness. Selected solutions will be featured in the ISSCA Innovation Compendium at Dryland Congress 2026.

On 17 June 2026, ICRISAT’s HR team launched , an in-house capability-building program designed to strengthen workplace effectiveness across the organization. The initiative focuses on enhancing skills, confidence, and professionalism through interactive, in-person learning sessions.

With the successful completion of the first cohort, participants representing diverse departments are now equipped to apply their new learnings and insights in their day-to-day work, contributing to a more capable, collaborative, and high-performing workplace.

The ICRISAT Centre of Excellence for South-South Cooperation in Agriculture (ISSCA) is building a standing pool of professionals from the Global South who can be considered for upcoming capacity building initiatives.

These include in-person international training programmes, short-term courses, and workshops designed to enable the deployment and scaling of field-ready innovations across the Global South. ICRISAT welcomed a delegation from the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT to its project sites on 10–11 June 2026.

The delegation visited the and landscapes to observe watershed management, rainwater harvesting, soil and water conservation, and agroforestry initiatives. They also interacted with the Natural Resource Management Committee, Farmer Producer Organisations, and local communities to understand the benefits of water security, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, and livelihoods.

A stakeholder consultation involving ICAR institutions and state government representatives explored opportunities for collaboration to restore degraded landscapes and advance sustainable agricultural systems in the region.
