| How much personal information are we willing to share with AI, and what makes us trust it?
A new study co-authored by Prof. Saurabh Kumar, published in the International Journal of Information Management, explores how users decide whether to disclose personal information to AI assistants.
The research finds that trust, perceived benefits, privacy nudges, and human-like interactions play a much bigger role in encouraging disclosure than privacy settings alone.
As AI becomes increasingly embedded in everyday life, the study offers valuable insights into designing AI systems that balance personalization with privacy, helping users engage confidently while staying protected.
