ISVIR Junior Wing is thrilled to welcome Dr. Wael Saad, MD, FSIR to our academic platform!
Dr. Saad is the Professor & Director of Vascular & Interventional Radiology, Vice Chair of Image-Guided Procedures, Department of Radiology & Imaging Sciences, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
We are excited to have him deliver an engaging talk this August on “Endovascular Management of Gastric Varices: Evolution in Concepts & Management and the Rise of Combination Therapy.” His vast expertise and pioneering contributions to Interventional Radiology promise an insightful learning experience for trainees and practitioners alike.

Heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed speakers — Dr. Avichala Taxak, Dr. Mansi Verma, Dr. Suraj Bhame an Dr. Antariksh Vijan — for delivering outstanding talks during the ISVIR Junior Wing IR Prep Tutor Session on Venous Interventions.
Their expert insights, practical approach, and exam-oriented discussions on acute DVT, varicose veins, malignant SVC syndrome and chronic venous disease made the session immensely valuable for trainees.
The session was attended by 90+ Interventional Radiology trainees from across India, who greatly benefited from the knowledge and experience shared by the faculty.
We would also like to thank all the participants for their enthusiastic engagement throughout the session and for actively taking part in the ISVIR Junior Wing Academic Championship Quiz, which added an exciting and interactive dimension to the learning experience.

The ISVIR Junior Wing is pleased to invite all Interventional Radiology trainees to an upcoming IR Prep Tutor Session focused on Venous Interventions—a high-yield topic for major examinations including Fellowships, EBIR, and other IR assessments.

We are delighted to welcome Jill Sommerset for an exclusive ISVIR Junior Wing Masterclass this July.
Jill Sommerset, RVT, FSVU, is a vascular technologist with 25 years of experience in advanced vascular ultrasound and limb preservation. Currently, she is the director of ultrasound at Advanced Vascular Centers and HOPE Vascular & Podiatry. She is also the director of Clinical Education and Training at Aveera Medical. She is known for developing Pedal Acceleration Time (PAT). Jill is also an international speaker recognized for her contributions to vascular ultrasound and improving patient outcomes.
Join us for what promises to be an outstanding session as she shares her expertise, experience, and perspectives on vascular imaging and limb salvage.

The ISVIR Junior Wing extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Tiago Bilhim for delivering an outstanding Onco Masterclass on Liver Venous Deprivation.
Through a highly engaging and practical session, Dr. Bilhim clearly outlined the indications, procedural workflow, technical nuances, and evolving evidence behind this important technique. The inclusion of live recorded cases provided invaluable real-world insights and greatly enriched the learning experience.
The session was attended by Interventional Radiology trainees from across India, and Dr. Bilhim generously took the time to address their questions with remarkable clarity and patience, making the discussion both educational and interactive.

Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Varun Yadav for delivering an outstanding session on “Percutaneous Ablations in Hepatocellular Carcinoma” as part of the ISVIR Junior Wing Onco Masterclass Series.
The session provided a comprehensive and practical overview of the role of percutaneous ablation in the management of HCC, covering patient selection, treatment planning, technical considerations, outcomes, and real-world procedural nuances. Through an evidence-based and case-oriented approach, Dr. Varun Yadav highlighted the evolving role of ablative therapies in Interventional Oncology and shared valuable insights that are directly applicable to contemporary clinical practice.
His clarity of thought, engaging teaching style, and ability to simplify complex concepts made this a truly enriching learning experience for trainees and practicing interventional radiologists alike. The thoughtful discussion on current evidence, technical challenges, and future directions of HCC ablation was particularly appreciated by the audience.
