On the solemn occasion of his 73rd Punyatithi, the Indian Museum, Kolkata, paid heartfelt homage to the legendary Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
The commemorative event featured a deeply insightful special talk by Dr. Shatorupa, Esteemed Member, Board of Trustees, Indian Museum, Kolkata, reflecting on his life, sacrifices, and enduring legacy.

माननीय संसदीय राजभाषा समिति की प्रथम उपसमिति के साथ हुई बैठक भारतीय संग्रहालय, कोलकाता के लिए सार्थक एवं प्रेरणादायी रही। बैठक के दौरान माननीय सदस्यों ने भारतीय संग्रहालय द्वारा राजभाषा हिंदी के क्षेत्र में किए जा रहे कार्यों पर संतोष व्यक्त करते हुए तथा अपने बहुमूल्य विचारों एवं मार्गदर्शन से हमें लाभान्वित किया। इस अवसर पर संस्कृति मंत्रालय के संयुक्त सचिव श्री अरविंद कुमार तथा उपनिदेशक श्री मनोज चौधरी का सहयोग एवं मार्गदर्शन भी निरंतर प्राप्त हुआ, जिसके लिए भारतीय संग्रहालय उनके प्रति हार्दिक कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करता है। यह बैठक राजभाषा के प्रभावी क्रियान्वयन के प्रति हमारी प्रतिबद्धता को और अधिक सुदृढ़ करने वाली सिद्ध हुई। साथ ही, भारतीय संग्रहालय, कोलकाता के निदेशक डॉ. सायन भट्टाचार्य के कुशल नेतृत्व एवं क्षमता को दर्शाता है।

On the 73rd Punyatithi of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, Indian Museum, Kolkata came together to honour a name etched in the history of modern India, a visionary educator, nation-builder, and a steadfast voice for unity.
The commemoration began with floral tributes offered to his portrait by Dr. Shatorupa, Esteemed Member, Board of Trustees, Indian Museum, Kolkata and other museum officials.
Dr. Shatorupa then delivered an illuminating lecture, bringing to light the life and legacy of Bengal and India's unsung hero.
Decades may pass, but the ideals he stood for remain as relevant as ever.

🌍 Celebrating the universal language of motherhood!
On June 22, 2026, the exhibition One Mother, Many Mother Tongues was inaugurated by Hon'ble Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Ji. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India in collaboration with Italian Embassy and Cultural Center, the exposition traces remarkable parallels in maternal imagery across cultures, religions and historical periods.
