The newly elected captains and vice-captains delivered speeches expressing their commitment to leadership, discipline, teamwork, and service to the school community.
Dr. Saba Taj, Vice-Principal of MM Model School, welcomed the Chief Guest and highlighted the significance of leadership in shaping responsible citizens. The school secretary, Mr. Ahmed Farooque, formally introduced the guest and honoured him with a memento as a token of appreciation.
In his keynote address, Mr. Muhammad Kalim delivered an inspiring and motivational presentation on leadership, courage, self-belief, and perseverance. He shared the powerful story of a baby elephant tied with a small rope to a peg. Although the elephant later grew into a five-ton giant capable of breaking free easily, it remained bound because of the limiting beliefs formed during its childhood. Through this example, he encouraged students to break free from negative mindsets and view failures as stepping stones to success.
He also narrated the remarkable story of Sudha Chandran, the renowned dancer who, despite losing her right leg, continued her relentless practice and emerged as a celebrated performer, inspiring millions through her determination and resilience.
Another thought-provoking example involved three individuals carrying different-sized containers—a jug, a bucket, and a large tank—to collect water from a flowing drain. Each received water according to the size of the container they carried. Through this illustration, Mr. Kalim explained that nature offers opportunities to everyone equally; however, success depends upon the size of one's vision, aspirations, and efforts. He urged students to dream big, remain focused on their goals, and never allow past failures to limit their future achievements.
Referring to the message of Surah Al-Imran, he reminded the students that true believers who remain steadfast and confident will ultimately achieve success.
The ceremony concluded with the formal badge presentation to all captains, vice-captains, and prefects, symbolizing the transfer of leadership responsibilities. The event became even more special as Arqam Hussain was joined by his father and Rahim Warsi by his mother during the ceremony.
Finally, Mr. Ahmed Farooque, Secretary of MM Model School, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, students, teachers, parents, and all those who contributed to the success of the programme. The event concluded with a group photograph, marking a memorable and inspiring day in the history of the school.
"Leadership is not about a badge; it is about responsibility, service, and inspiring others through action."
