The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science), Future Institute of Engineering and Management, successfully organized a Tree Plantation Drive on 18th June 2026 at the Sonarpur Mission Pally Main Road area as part of its NSS activities. The event was conducted in the gracious presence of the Principal Sir, Head of the Department and faculty members. Students enthusiastically participated in the initiative, demonstrating their commitment to environmental conservation and social responsibility. The program was a meaningful step towards promoting a greener and healthier environment.

Some goodbyes are not endings—they are celebrations of everything that came before them.

It gives us immense pleasure to announce the release of the 11th edition of Data Spark, the newsletter of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science), FIEM. This edition highlights the latest activities, achievements, academic accomplishments, events and milestones of the department, reflecting the continuous growth and excellence of our students and faculty members.

The Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) Department successfully organized "PREP STAR 4.0", an offline mock interview session, on May 25th and 26th, 2026. This initiative aimed at preparing third-year B.Tech CSE (Data Science) students for upcoming campus interviews.

Faculty members from the CSE (Data Science) Department acted as interviewers, while faculty members from the CSE, CA and IT Departments engaged as external interviewers to provide diverse perspectives and expertise.

We hope this mock interview session will help our students in the below mentioned perspectives:

* Gaining experience with different interview formats and question types
* Familiarize themselves with the interview process
* Boost their confidence and alleviate anxiety

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) is pleased to announce “PREP STAR 4.0”, an offline mock interview session scheduled to be held on 25th and 26th May 2026.
This initiative is exclusively organized for third-year B.Tech. students of CSE (Data Science) who will be appearing for campus placement interviews in the upcoming semester. The session aims to provide participants with a realistic interview experience, helping them strengthen both their technical competencies and professional communication skills.
Through expert guidance and simulated interview interactions, students will gain valuable insights into industry expectations, improve their confidence, and enhance their overall placement preparedness.
We look forward to supporting our students in their career aspirations and helping them take a confident step toward a successful professional journey.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science) and the Department of Information Technology jointly organized the Elite Cricket Cup 2026 on 9th April 2026 at the FIEM Ground from 11:00 AM onwards. The tournament was conducted successfully with enthusiastic participation from students. The event aimed to encourage sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and interaction among students and faculty members.

We are pleased to announce that the students of the CSE (Data Science) Department emerged as the Champions of the Elite Cricket Cup 2026, demonstrating excellent teamwork and dedication throughout the tournament. The students of the Information Technology Department secured the Runners-up Trophy with a commendable performance.

The event concluded on a successful note with active participation, healthy competition, and memorable experiences for everyone involved.

This is to inform you that the 2-Day Workshop on “Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security Development,” conducted on 21st–22nd April 2026 by CSE (DS) Department, has been successfully completed.
The workshop provided participants with valuable insights into the fundamentals of ethical hacking, cyber security practices, and emerging threats in the digital landscape. The sessions were highly interactive and enriched with practical demonstrations, enabling attendees to gain hands-on exposure and a deeper understanding of the subject.
We are pleased to share that the event witnessed active participation and engagement from students, making it a fruitful and informative experience for all involved.
