The Afternoon Assembly for sections J, K and L of Class XII on June 22,2026 opened with the School Prayer by Saranya Dutta of XII L.The News of the Day was read by Mohor Barman of XII J.It was followed by 'Thought for the day' by Shrijita Halder of XII K. A heartfelt talk on ' Mental and Physical health' came next by Soham Dam Chaudhury of XII L. Shyam Jha of XII J spoke about his favourite book ' Ikigai' by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles. For Ayani Sarkar of XII K, her idols are people from her everyday life, like her parents,her teachers, and even her friends, who inspire her in different ways.The assembly ended with the National Anthem.

The Book Talk segment in the Morning Assembly of 22nd June, was presented by Akshay Agarwal (XII E) on 'The Midnight Library' by Matt Haig. His presentation offered a fascinating insight into the novel's thought-provoking exploration of choices, regrets, and the endless possibilities that life presents. Through the journey of the protagonist, students were encouraged to reflect on the value of self-acceptance, resilience, and embracing the present, making it an engaging and meaningful literary discussion.

In the My Idol segment of the morning assembly held on 22 June 2026, Katha Sengupta of XII F(M) delivered an engaging presentation on “The Quiet Leader – Mr. Ratan Tata.” Through her insightful speech, she highlighted the renowned industrialist's visionary leadership, humility, compassion, and unwavering commitment to social welfare.

The morning assembly on 22 June 2026, conducted by the students of Class XII Science, reflected their confidence, creativity, and awareness.
The programme began with the school prayer led by Swaadha Thapa (XII G), followed by the news presentation by Ayan Ahmed (XII E) and the Thought for the Day by Saptarshi Banerjee (XII F). Mohana Basu (XII G) spoke on the importance of a balanced lifestyle and overall well-being.
In the Book Talk segment, Akshay Agarwal (XII E) reviewed The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, encouraging a love for reading. Katha Sengupta (XII F), in the My Idol segment, presented “The Quiet Leader – Mr. Ratan Tata,” highlighting the visionary leadership, humility, and contributions of Ratan Tata.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem led by Rishabh (XII G) and Sharmili Maiti (XII F), fostering a sense of unity and pride among all present.

Earmarked students from Classes IX, X and XI, 4 teachers from South Point School and 4 teachers from South Point High School proudly participated in the celebration of the 12th International Yoga Day, held on Sunday, June 21, 2026 right at the crack of dawn at Red Road. They followed the Common Yoga Protocol along with thousands of yoga enthusiasts, spreading the message of health, harmony and well-being.

Simultaneously, 21 NCC cadets from Classes IX and X participated in the International Yoga Day programme at Deshapriya Park, where they too followed the Common Yoga Protocol with great enthusiasm and discipline.

In addition to the physical events, the school actively joined the Yoga Sangam virtual programme, reaffirming its commitment to promoting yoga and a healthy lifestyle. In recognition of their active participation, SPHS was awarded a Certificate of Participation by the Ministry of Ayush.

The celebrations have inspired all to embrace yoga as a way of life and uphold the spirit of holistic well-being.

On the eve of International Yoga Day, 74 pupils from Classes VI to X along with the cadets of both the NCC Army Wing and the NCC Air Wing participated in an hour long yoga session at the School premises on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
The programme commenced with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of International Yoga Day and the role of yoga in ensuring physical fitness and mental well-being as well as sustained concentration. The participants enthusiastically performed various yoga asanas and breathing exercises under the guidance of the teachers of the Physical Education Department.

The Wall of Happiness was organised in the School premises on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Some of the less fortunate people of the neighbourhood dropped in to collect old but clean clothes for all ages, contributed by the staff members. It was a very humble way of giving back a little to the society we live in.

During the school assembly held on 19th June 2026, Chinmoyee Goswami (XII C) presented a captivating Book Talk on Journey Home: The Autobiography of an American Swami by Radhanath Swami (Richard Slavin). Through her presentation, she highlighted the author's remarkable journey of self-discovery, spiritual awakening, and unwavering pursuit of truth.

The programme began with the School Prayer led by Drisana Saha (XII B), followed by News Updates by Subhayoo Banerjee (XII C) and the Thought for the Day by Uttaran Saha (XII D).

Rupanjan Bera (XII B) spoke on Mental and Physical Health, highlighting the importance of overall well-being. In the Book Talk segment, Chinmoyee Goswami (XII C) presented 'Journey Home: The Autobiography of an American Swami' by Radhanath Swami(Richard Slavin), sharing key insights from the author's spiritual journey.
In the My Idol segment, Neil Agarwal (XII D) spoke about Kumar Managlam Birla, the person he admires and the values that inspire him.
The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.

Our judges were well-known theatre personalities, Smt. Ish*ta Mukherjee, Shri Rajat Ganguly and Shri Soumitra Basu.
After the plays were staged, our students presented a Bharatnatyam recital, appreciated by all.
The engrossing session that pointed at many unresolved issues, ended with the following results:
