KRVIA - AKTC Education Programme Publication
The Reflections on Architecture as a Craft publication seeks to explore architecture as craft. Here craft goes beyond its conventional connotations, embodying a thoughtful comprehension of the local – material, techniques and cultural legacies.
It is an extension of a project commissioned by the Education Programme of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture. The six buildings in India that were awarded the Aga Khan Award for Architecture were evaluated for the impact that they had on architectural language in the country, their fit with topical issues concerning the built environment today, the life of the building since it received the Award and the reasons for its selection by the Master Jury.
The research, printing and dissemination has been made possible through the generous support of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture - Education Programme.
