On the occasion of 'Single Women's Day', the Women and Child Development Department, Palghar, convened a district-level consultation to deliberate on recommendations for the 5th Women's Policy.
PUKAR was invited to participate alongside senior district officials and key stakeholders.
During the consultation, PUKAR presented six recommendations focused on strengthening the rights, wellbeing and socio-economic empowerment of single women, contributing to a more inclusive and responsive policy framework. All six recommendations were accepted by the Department for consideration in the policy recommendations

'Unheard Voices from the Margin.'
Ten months ago, a group of passionate youth from across Mumbai stepped into their communities with deep curiosity and a shared purpose. Today, they stand as PUKAR’s Barefoot Researchers as empowered knowledge producers and conscious leaders.
Through 'Community-Based Participatory Action Research', they have listened to, documented and brought to light the silent stories and overlooked realities of the margins.
Now, it’s time for those voices to be heard.
