We were privileged to host Mr. Harshawardhan Honmode, CIO, The Yokohama-ATG Rubber Co. Ltd. and an alumnus of Deccan Education Society, as the Keynote Speaker at the recently concluded International Conference on Management and Technology INCMAT 2026, jointly hosted by DES’ JSKBS and Navinchandra Mehta Institute of Technology and Development, in association with the University of Mumbai.

In a truly spellbinding keynote, Mr. Honmode navigated the intersection of AI, business, and sustainability, drawing powerful insights from the production and consumption lifecycle of tires. His assertion that “efficiency created the climate problem—and now intelligence must solve it” was both profound and provocative.

He outlined five critical shifts set to define the coming decade:

It was a privilege to listen to Mr. Nitin Pangam, Guest of Honour and proud alumnus of the Deccan Education Society, who delivered a riveting and thought‑provoking address at the inaugural session of INCMAT 2026.

He set the tone immediately with the memorable “𝘽𝙖𝙡𝙖 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩,” drawing on a trending generative AI advertisement to capture the audience’s attention and segue seamlessly into a deeper reflection on AI. With remarkable clarity and sagacity, he explained how AI is enabling businesses to acquire insights and knowledge in minutes—work that once took months.

Mr. Pangam spoke candidly about the changing nature of jobs, particularly the shrinking of entry‑level roles in BFSI, IT, and consulting, along with stagnating pay packages. At the same time, he offered a hopeful and forward‑looking perspective: AI‑enabled “𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜,” including within MSMEs, is emerging as a powerful engine for new job creation. He encouraged students to keep their minds open to these evolving opportunities.

His address was also a strong call to action—urging students to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, learn a foreign language, and deeply understand a country and industry of their choice as a foundation for launching future ventures.
