MET proudly congratulates Dr. Vijaya Patil, Associate Professor at MET Institute of Pharmacy, on receiving the Best Poster Award at NPFT 2026 – Natural Products for Future Therapeutics held from 4th to 6th February 2026.

The award-winning poster, “Phytochemical Intervention in Alzheimer’s Neurodegeneration: Insights from Drosophila Model,” presented significant findings on the neuroprotective potential of phytochemicals using a validated Drosophila model for Alzheimer’s disease.

The research work carried out by Dr. Vijaya Patil, Ms. Krishna Fatak, Ms. Apoorva Gajula, Ms. Divya Kawa, and Ms. Lavanya Ravindran was appreciated by the expert jury for its innovation, scientific merit, and contribution towards future therapeutic development.

MET Institute of Pharmacy proudly hosted Lumiere 2026 on 2nd April 2026, a distinguished celebration of academic excellence, talent, and unity. The event exemplified the institute’s commitment to holistic development, commencing with a traditional inauguration and followed by insightful addresses from esteemed dignitaries.

A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of “The Nest”, the official Pharmacy Degree magazine, centred on the theme Social and Preventive Pharmacy, reflecting the evolving role of pharmacists in advancing community health.

The ceremony also recognised outstanding academic achievers, acknowledged cultural contributions, and honoured the spirit of sportsmanship, with the Third Year B. Pharmacy students securing the sports trophy. The consistent efforts and dedication of the student council significantly contributed to the success of the event.

The program, organized by IDEMI – MSME Technology Centre, Mumbai, under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India, was held on 11th April to 12th April 2026. It brought together researchers, academicians, entrepreneurs, and students, fostering a dynamic and interdisciplinary learning environment.

Dr. Bandoo Chatale, Assistant Professor, MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), represented the institute as a distinguished resource person at the National-Level Seminar on “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from the Pharmaceutical Sector Perspective.” Organized by Loknete Dr. J. D. Pawar College of Pharmacy, Nashik, and sponsored by Savitribai Phule Pune University, the seminar brought together academicians and professionals to deliberate on cutting-edge advancements.

During his session, Dr. Chatale delivered an insightful presentation on the integration of AI and ML in pharmaceutical research and practice, with a focus on drug discovery, development, and healthcare innovation. His contribution significantly enriched the academic discourse and inspired participants to explore the vast potential of technology-driven solutions in the pharmaceutical sector.

Dr. Bandoo Chatale, Assistant Professor at MET Institute of Pharmacy (Degree), was invited as a Resource Person for hands-on sessions on “Empowering Researchers with Artificial Intelligence” during the PM-USHA Sponsored Faculty Development Program on Scientific Equipment held on 27th February 2026 at Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University and R. C. Patel Arts, Commerce and Science College, Shirpur.

The session focused on exploring how Artificial Intelligence can enhance research efficiency, support data analysis, and strengthen academic innovation. It was an enriching opportunity to interact with faculty members and contribute to their professional development through practical insights and collaborative learning.
