Government Senior Secondary School, Nandugaon successfully conducted a School Management Committee (SMC) meeting today as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and MHRD. During the meeting, the previous SMC was formally dissolved and a new School Management Committee was constituted in accordance with the prescribed norms and guidelines.

Shri Tika Sigdel was unanimously nominated as the new SMC President. The newly formed committee members were warmly welcomed by former SMC President Shri Parshuram Chettri along with other dignitaries.

To further strengthen and support the developmental and academic activities of the school, a very strong School Development Committee ( SDC) was also constituted during the meeting.

The programme was graced by Hon’ble Panchayat Vice President Shri Santa Kumar Rai as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished attendees included Panchayat members of 35-Poklok GPU, Mrs Babita Limboo, General Secretary, Nari Wing (State), Mrs Meera Rai, Nari Convenor (Namchi District), CLC President Shri Gyalpo Lepcha, CLC Youth Convenor Shri Nagen Tamang, OSD to Hon’ble Minister Shri Phurden Lepcha, former SMC members, Alumini of GSSS ,parents, and staff members as special guests.

The school extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries, parents, and stakeholders for their valuable presence and continued support towards the growth and development of the institution.

Students of Government Senior Secondary School, Nandugaon proudly and enthusiastically participated in the Habuild Online Yoga World Record Initiative organized in collaboration with the Ministry of AYUSH ahead of International Yoga Day 2026.

Awareness Program on To***co and Substance Abuse Conducted at Government Senior Secondary School, Nandugaon

The PRAHARI Club and To***co Free Institution (ToFI) Club of Government Senior Secondary School, Nandugaon, Namchi District, organized various awareness activities on 7th June 2026. The programme included a Special Assembly, Poster Making Competition, and an Awareness Rally with the objective of spreading awareness about the harmful effects of to***co, alcohol, and other addictive substances.

Students actively participated in all the activities and creatively expressed their ideas through posters based on the theme “.Say No to To***co – Choose Life, Choose Health” The awareness rally carried powerful messages promoting a healthy, disciplined, and addiction-free lifestyle.

Shri Bishnu Kant Sharma, Principal of the school, took keen initiative in promoting the To***co Free Institution movement. In his address, he encouraged students to stay away from to***co products and contribute towards maintaining a to***co-free campus. His motivating words inspired students to become responsible ambassadors of positive change in society.

The programme was successfully conducted under the guidance of the Nodal Teachers, Mrs. Phip Rani S***a and Mrs. Latta Gadaily, who played an active role in organizing and coordinating the event. Their continuous efforts and dedication have been instrumental in conducting such awareness programmes in the school.

Today, Government Senior Secondary School Nandugaon witnessed a grand and memorable Tithi Bhoj programme hosted by Bishnu Kant Sharma, Principal on the auspicious occasion of his 31st Marriage Anniversary.

The programme was attended by approximately 441 people, including 337 students from Nursery to Class XII, 70 staff members, 17 School Management Committee (SMC) members, 15 football players from the neighbouring area, and few parents of the students.

The occasion was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Suren Chettri the senior football coach of Sikkim presently working in Madras FC, Distinguished guests present on the occasion included Parshu Ram CHETTRI, SMC President, Bishnu Maya Sharma Zilla Panchayat Member, Smita Rai ward Panchayat member, along with other Panchayat representatives and respected SMC members.
As part of the celebration, the school organised two friendly football matches to promote sportsmanship and unity. The first match was played between the lady teachers and the girl students, while the second match was played between the gents staff members of the school and the staff members of PM SHREE Government Senior Secondary School Jorethang. Both matches were enjoyed enthusiastically by the participants and spectators alike.

A delicious Tithi Bhoj was served to all present. The menu included rice pudding, special potato curry, tomato-cheese mixed curry, and fruit juice.

The entire programme was conducted in a joyful and harmonious atmosphere and concluded with great success, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.

A warm and memorable Promotion-cum-Farewell Programme was organized by Government Senior Secondary School Nandugaon in honor of Mr. Jeewan Darnal (Arts Graduate Teacher) and 7 numbers of B. ED internship trainee teachers deputed by Loyola college of Education, Namchi for a period of 3 months .

The event was filled with gratitude and heartfelt wishes from the Principal, staff, and students, celebrating Mr. Jeewan Darnal's dedication, guidance, and valuable contributions to the school.

We congratulate Mr. Jeewan Darnal on his well-deserved promotion and wish him continued success, happiness, and fulfillment in his new journey ahead.
