The Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp (BBSC) is a nationwide Education Ministry initiative inspired by the NEP 2020 to promote multilingualism and cultural appreciation among students.
On 19th of june 2026, our school successfully conducted the Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students.
Day 1: The students were divied into two groups wherein basic greeting and expression in Lepcha and Rai language were taught followed by simple sign language of communications.
The camp is being organised to celebrate India's rich linguistic diversity by introducing students to different Indian languages and Indian Sign Language (ISL).

1. Master Jikmee Bhutia (VI) had represented Sikkim state at KIO Sub Junior, Cadet and Junior Karate Championship 2026 hosted by Uttarakhand Karate Association organised by Karate India Organisation held at Multi Purpose Hall, Parade ground, Dehradun, Uttarakhand from 4th to 7th June 2026. He has won Bronze Medal for the state.
2. Miss Elisha Tamang (VIII) had participated in Inter School Poem competition organised by Namchi Municipal Council under the banner 'Swachh Bharat Mission' on 11th June 2026 at NMC Multi Purpose Hall Namchi. She has secured Third position in the competition. Altogether six Schools around Namchi had participated in the competition. Other participants from the school were Master Sohan Pradhan (VIII) and Master Rehan Biswa (VIII).

The Third Phase of the Teacher-Parent Meeting for the students reading in class X was successfully conducted today at the school auditorium. The meeting aimed to strengthen the school-parent partnership and update parents on academic matters and new policy changes.
The meeting commenced with a warm welcome by the Headmaster. He expressed gratitude to all parents for their active participation and emphasized the importance of consistent collaboration between teachers and parents for the holistic development of students.
The Headmaster briefed the parents on New Education Policies introduced under NEP 2020 and their implementation at the school level, recent decisions taken by CBSE regarding curriculum, assessment patterns, and student-related issues, Mid Term and Quarterly examination.
The Subject teachers and the Headmaster had one-on -one interaction with parents alongwith with their ward to discuss the academic progress of each student. Parents were made aware of their wardโs overall performance. Suggestions were given to parents to monitor study routines, encourage reading habits, and maintain regular communication with the Headmaster and subject teachers.
The meeting concluded on a positive note with parents appreciating the schoolโs transparent approach and commitment to student growth.

๐๐Govt. New Sec. School bagged 1st position in Namchi District. Shri Bhuwan Chettri (Headmaster) alongwith Shri Gay Tshering Bhutia (TGT), who is also a Nodal Teacher (TOFEI) received the Certificate from Hon'ble Minister Shri G. T. Dhungel at the Auditorium Hall, STNM Hospital, Gangtok. Shri Tashi Chopel, Secretary, Education Department alongwith other dignitaries were also present during the programme.
The Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim, organized the State Level Observation of World No To***co Day 2026 on 10th June 2026.
This yearโs theme, โUnmasking the Appeal โ Countering Ni****ne and To***co Addictionโ, focused on strengthening to***co control efforts across the state.
The Education Department was also given the platform to be a part of it. So, under the direction of Additional Director, Samagra Shiksha, Mrs. Asha Khatri, the TOFEI State Nodal Officer-cum-Assistant Director, Mrs. Gonam Bhutia, highlighted the To***co-Free Educational Institution (TOFEI) Guidelines and shared updates on school compliance with the 9 prescribed parameters under the National To***co Control Programme.
As part of the programme, TOFEI Declaration Certificates were distributed to 18 winning schools โ 3 from each of the 6 districts โ in recognition of their successful implementation of to***co-free practices.
Together, we remain committed to creating safe, healthy, and to***co-free learning environments for our students.
