संस्कृत श्लोक:
“करचरणकृतं वाक्कायजं कर्मजं वा
श्रवणनयनजं वा मानसं वापराधम्।
विहितमविहितं वा सर्वमेतत् क्षमस्व
जय जय करुणाब्धे श्रीमहादेव शम्भो॥”

अर्थ:
हे महादेव! हमारे हाथ-पैर, वाणी, शरीर, मन, आँख या कान से जाने-अनजाने जो भी त्रुटियाँ हुई हों, उन्हें क्षमा कर हमें सही मार्ग पर चलने की प्रेरणा दें।

Commemorating the signing of the Ramsar Convention on this day in 1971, we reflect on the immense value of wetlands—from filtering water and mitigating floods to acting as crucial carbon sinks in the fight against climate change.

Here in Sikkim, our unique high-altitude wetlands are fragile biodiversity hotspots supporting rare flora and fauna. At Sikkim Alpine University, we believe that understanding these complex ecosystems through rigorous research and education is the first step toward their preservation. Let us commit to learning more about and protecting these vital life-support systems.
