A unique summer school for young professionals from Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Our final day at LVIC felt like emptying a pocket full of memories: films, postcards, bingo, laughter, and a hall buzzing with students and residents of Mayabunder🌿💛

We played iNat Bingo, wrote postcards as our favourite animals, watched the short documentaries, and celebrated everything we learnt over the last three weeks.

Thanks to everyone who joined, cheered, clapped, asked questions, and made the final day feel like a festival of stories and nature.

A little late to post this… mostly because we were still recovering from how emotional the final week of LVIC 2025 was. 🌿💛

Somewhere between tracing ecosystems and arguing over conservation values, we realised that the program is ending, and we’re not ready. Three weeks felt long… until they suddenly weren’t.

We have laughed, argued, mapped, filmed, spotted birds at odd hours, and tried (unsuccessfully) not to get sentimental on the last day.

🏡 Koh Hee, which means ‘Island home’ in Karen, is not only ’s living legacy but also one of the few remaining Karen traditional houses in Webi.

We spent a day here learning about Karen architecture, food systems, traditional medicines, and the links between culture and conservation.

We are extremely grateful to Ahti John for sharing his insights on preserving culture and nature, and for showing us what coexistence looks like in everyday life.

Birdwatching Morning with Prasanth and Issac 🌾
Learning to listen, observe, and name the life around us.
From technical tips to traditional names, the session blended science and community knowledge, helping us see the islands through new eyes. 👀✨

Swipe till the end to catch Ahti Wengie’s casual conversation with a bird 🐦💬
Guess which bird it is? 👇

From seagrass meadows to coral rubble, our intertidal walk was a lesson in seeing life where the land meets the sea 🌊
We explored the fragile beauty of these ecosystems, observed them closely, and discussed how our choices shape the coasts we share.

Thanks to for walking us (literally!) through the tides.
