NMC has issued a public notice regarding the conversion of Post Graduate Diploma seats into Broad Specialty Degree seats (MD/MS).

🔹 Academic Year 2026-27 will be the last year for admission to PG Diploma courses.
🔹 From Academic Year 2027-28 onwards, no admissions will be permitted to PG Diploma courses.
🔹 All PG Diploma courses will be phased out and converted into MD/MS degree seats, subject to approval by MARB and fulfillment of NMC norms.

As per the latest admission updates, students enrolling in medical universities in Kazakhstan from the 2026 intake onwards may be offered a 6+1 year medical program, comprising 6 years of academic medical education and 1 year of compulsory clinical internship, making the total duration 7 years in some universities. The updated course structure is being officially reflected in admission-related documents issued by universities. Additionally, applicants may be required to meet minimum qualifying scores in internationally recognized English proficiency examinations such as IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo English Test, along with fulfilling all other university and regulatory admission requirements. Students are strongly advised to verify the latest eligibility criteria and program structure directly with their chosen university before admission.
