At Muktangan Exploratory Science Center, the celebration of National Science Day was a vibrant three-day journey of curiosity, creativity, and discovery.
Day 1 featured a Drawing Competition and Science Quiz, where students explored scientific ideas through art, imagination, and critical thinking.
On Day 2, we had the privilege of hosting an international session under the British Council’s GREAT initiative with Jen Gupta, who spoke about exploring the universe and the importance of engaging the public with astronomy.
Day 3 brought everyone together for a joyful Science Carnival, a special lecture on Physics, and the Prize Distribution Ceremony, celebrating the enthusiasm and achievements of participating students.
It was wonderful to see so many schools participate and to connect with students, parents, teachers, and science enthusiasts over these three days. Moments like these remind us how powerful curiosity and community can be in nurturing a love for science.

Celebrating National Science Day with young innovators!
At Muktangan Exploratory Science Centre, we believe science becomes meaningful when students connect concepts with real-world challenges.
With the generous CSR support of Sandvik Coromant India, our centre has recently been solar electrified, strengthening our commitment to sustainability and clean energy. As part of this collaboration, we launched a three-month STEM learning program designed to nurture the next generation of Science Champions.
Our first cohort includes six enthusiastic students from the Sandvik-supported tinkering lab at Lokmanya Tilak Phugewadi School (PCMC). Every weekend, these young learners traveled to the centre to explore, experiment, and build their understanding of science beyond the classroom.
Facilitated by Yojak, the program focused on hands-on learning in physics, chemistry, electronics, applied STEM, and skill development, encouraging students to think critically and design solutions for real-world challenges.
Impact of the initiative:
☀️ Promoting renewable energy through solar electrification
📚 Strengthening experiential STEM education
🌍 Supporting the goals of Quality Education (SDG 4) and Affordable & Clean Energy (SDG 7)
On National Science Day, we celebrate the curiosity, dedication, and creativity of these young Sandvik Coromant STEM Champions.
Together, partnerships like these help us nurture future innovators and build a more sustainable tomorrow.
