Session II of Peacevent II is today.

We open with Simran Kour, Co-Founder of Eqra Foundation, leading a segment on Perceptions and Narratives, exploring how the stories we carry and the lenses we see through shape the way we relate to one another.

This sets the stage for the rest of the session, “The Ocean Within Us,” with Ms. Sudha Shankar on Nonviolent Communication.

Fellows from across Jammu and Kashmir join us this evening at 7:30 PM IST.

“Stability without opportunity is just a pause. What transforms a ceasefire into lasting peace is the filling of that pause with something real — income, enterprise, investment, aspiration. Development doesn’t decorate peace. It anchors it.”

— A Peacevent II Fellow, Jammu and Kashmir

65 fellows responded to our post-Session 1 reflection. This is one voice from across the region.

Peacevent II is a 15-week EU-funded youth fellowship on peace and development, bringing together 100 young leaders from across Jammu and Kashmir.

Outreach on Peace Leadership & Peace Education at Kashmir Law College

As part of our ongoing educational outreach under Peacevent, we conducted a powerful training session on peace leadership and development advocacy at Kashmir Law College — engaging future lawyers in meaningful conversations around justice, rights, and peacebuilding.

We believe legal education must go beyond textbooks, nurturing ethical, community-rooted advocates of peace. The session introduced frameworks on conflict transformation, international peace mechanisms, and the role of law students in shaping equitable futures — globally and locally.

Grateful to the faculty and students for their active participation and curiosity. More such engagements are in the pipeline as we expand the reach of Peacevent to institutions across the region.
