Investiture Ceremony 2026

Leadership and responsibility took centre stage at Delhi Public School Surat as the school conducted its Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2026–27 on 19 June 2026. The event marked the formal induction of the newly elected Student Council, entrusted with the responsibility of leading the student body and upholding the values of the school.

A total of 52 student council members were officially inducted, with Samyak Rajpal and Aarvi Jain being conferred the prestigious titles of Head Boy and Head Girl, respectively. The council members were ceremonially invested with sashes, badges, and flags by their respective House Mistresses, while the members of the Cultural Committee were formally presented with their badges by the Activity In-charge. Principal Mr. P. Vamshi Krishna conferred the prestigious titles of Head Boy and Head Girl and administered the oath of office to the newly elected council members. The student leaders solemnly pledged to uphold the values and ethos of the school and discharge their responsibilities with integrity, and dedication.

In his address, the Principal encouraged the students to lead with purpose, responsibility, and compassion, inspiring them to strive for excellence in all their endeavours. A dynamic band performance further enhanced the grandeur of the ceremony. The event concluded on an inspiring note, motivating the newly appointed leaders to lead by example throughout the year.

Field Trip to Noah's Ark

The Grade II students of DPS Surat visited Noah’s Ark from 11th to 17th June for an exciting and educational field trip. The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for the students to learn about different animals and birds through first hand observation.
During the trip, the students observed a variety of birds and animals. They learnt about the different sounds made by animals and birds and gained insights into their habitats, physical features and eating habits.
The students explored the differences between turtles and tortoises. They also learnt interesting facts about parakeets, the unique features of roosters and how the placement of eyes differs between herbivores and predators.
The field trip was both enjoyable and informative. It enhanced the students’ observation skills, sparked their curiosity and provided meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom. The students returned with happy memories and valuable knowledge about the animal world.

Thriving Together: Building Mindset, Adaptability & Teamwork – Professional Development Workshop for Administrative Department

The Counselling Department of Delhi Public School Surat conducted a Professional Development Workshop for the Administrative Department on 13 June 2026, focusing on building adaptability, effective communication, a growth mindset, and continuous learning. Through interactive discussions and reflective activities, participants explored ways to embrace change with confidence and strengthen their personal and professional growth.
The active participation and enthusiasm of members made the session meaningful, fostering reflection, collaboration, and a renewed sense of purpose. At DPS Surat, we continue to promote a positive and progressive work culture where every individual is empowered to learn, connect, and grow.

KNOWBELL: Unlocking the Power of Scientific Thinking

The Science Quiz “KNOWBELL” conducted on 16 June 2026 at DPS Surat transformed science learning into an engaging and interactive experience for the students of Classes XI and XII.
The quiz featured five thoughtfully designed rounds—Quiz Buzz, Science in Sight (Audio-Visual Round), Riddle Round, Case-Based Round, and Rapid-Fire Round—that challenged participants to apply scientific concepts, think critically, and solve problems creatively. The engagement extended beyond the participants through an interactive Audience Round featuring thought-provoking scientific questions encouraging enthusiastic participation and involvement from the audience.
Adding greater significance to the event, a special message was presented to mark the International Volunteer Year 2026 (IVY26), paying tribute to the dedication, compassion, and silent contributions of volunteers who make a meaningful difference in communities worldwide.
After a closely contested competition, Dragon House secured the first position, followed by Unicorn House and Gryphon House in the second and third positions respectively.
The event successfully blended knowledge, curiosity, and healthy competition, inspiring students to view science not merely as a subject, but as a way of understanding and exploring the world around them.

Education Fair of Indian Universities

On 9 June 2026, an Education Fair featuring leading Indian universities was organised for students and parents of Classes XI and XII. Seventeen universities participated in the event, offering valuable insights into a wide range of academic programmes and admission procedures. University representatives shared information on course offerings, application timelines, fee structures, scholarships, and accommodation facilities. The fair provided a platform for students and parents to interact directly with university officials, seek clarifications, and gain a deeper understanding of higher education opportunities. By introducing students to diverse academic pathways and career prospects, the event empowered them to make informed decisions and align their future aspirations with suitable educational opportunities.

Eco Vogue 2026: Fashioning a Greener Future

Can fashion inspire change? The answer was a resounding yes at Eco Vogue – The Sustainable Show, an inter-house competition, organised by the Science Department of DPS Surat Secondary Block, for the students of Class IX on 6th June 2026.
Celebrating the World Environment Day, the event showcased how creativity and conscious choices can shape a greener tomorrow. Through three exciting rounds, participants demonstrated that sustainability is not merely a concept but a way of life.
The ‘I Am the Change’ Round witnessed students stepping into the shoes of eco-warriors, showcasing striking outfits crafted from recycled and reusable materials. Their imaginative creations proved that waste can be transformed into something meaningful and beautiful.
The focus on environmental awareness continued in the ‘Expression Round’, where participants shared powerful ideas on conservation and sustainable living. Their confident presentations encouraged the audience to reflect on their role in protecting the planet and highlighted how small actions can make a big difference.
The ‘Judges’ Interaction Round’ gave participants an opportunity to explain the inspiration behind their creations and share their vision for a greener future. Their thoughtful responses reflected a deep understanding of environmental challenges and a genuine commitment to finding solutions.
As Eco Vogue 2026 drew to a close, it left behind a powerful message: when creativity meets environmental responsibility, a greener future becomes possible.

Deepening Mathematical Understanding: Professional Development Workshop for Classes VII to X Mathematics Teachers

DPS Surat successfully hosted a three-day Mathematics Professional Development Workshop from 25–27 May 2026 for Mathematics teachers of Classes VII–X. The workshop was conducted by award-winning educator Mr. Dinesh Lahoti from Guwahati and supported by Ms. Priyanvada Barbhai from NLF.
The workshop integrated Universal Active Math and competency-based learning approaches, focusing on experiential, conceptual, and application-based teaching. Teachers explored key areas including number patterns, divisibility rules, fractions, tessellations, geometry through paper folding, symmetry, and trigonometry.
The workshop strengthened teachers’ understanding of building strong conceptual foundations while promoting logical reasoning, visual thinking, and real-life application of Mathematics, making learning more engaging and student-centred.

Enhancing Mathematical Thinking: Professional Development Workshop for Classes V and VI Mathematics Teachers

DPS Surat organised a three-day Professional Development Workshop in Mathematics from 25–27 May 2026 for teachers of Classes V and VI.
The workshop was facilitated by senior master resource persons from NLF, Dr. Vivek Monteiro and Ms. Geeta Mahashabde, with support from Dr. Aarti Dhepe. The sessions focused on making Mathematics meaningful, engaging, and fear-free through experiential and activity-based learning.
The facilitators emphasised helping students visualise mathematical concepts, understand quantities, and build strong conceptual foundations before progressing to abstract methods. Through hands-on activities and collaborative discussions, teachers explored innovative approaches to teaching multiplication, division, factors and multiples, divisibility rules, patterns, geometry, constructions, and the derivation of area and perimeter formulae.
The workshop was a highly enriching experience, reinforcing the belief that every child can learn and enjoy Mathematics through active exploration and meaningful learning.
