This new initiative is dedicated to promoting sustainability, environmental awareness, and green engineering among students and the wider community.

Together, we aim to inspire positive change through innovative ideas, impactful projects, and environmental action.

Membership is open to all engineering students at the University of Sulaimani.

Scientific Field Visit: Cobiax Slab Implementation at Sitak Resort Area
The ACI UOS Student Chapter continues its mission to bridge the gap between academia and industry. On Thursday,14/5/2026, our members visited an active construction site in Sitak to study the reinforcement and placement of Cobiax Voided Flat Plate Slabs.
This visit. The technical explanation During the site visit was delivered by Engineer[Binar khalid]and supervised by our advisor [dr sirwan khursheed].allowed students to inspect the void formers' cage stability and the specific concrete pouring requirements for biaxial voided slabs.

لقی قوتابیانی ACI زانکۆی سلێمانی بەردەوامە لە کارەکانی بۆ ئاشناکردنی قوتابیان بە نوێترین تەکنەلۆژیاکانی جیهانی ئەندازیاری. شڕۆڤەی سەردانی سایتەکە لەلایەن ئەندازیار[ بینەر خالید]ەوە پێشکەش کرا،وە سەرپەرشتیکردنی پڕۆژەکە لەلایەن ڕاگری کۆلێژ دکتۆر[سیروان خورشید] بوو گەشتێکی مەیدانی بۆ ناوچەی سیتەک ڕێکخرا بە مەبەستی بینینی سیستەمی (Cobiax Slab).
لەم بەسەرکردنەوەیەدا، قوتابیان لە نزیکەوە ئاشنابوون بە لایەنە تەکنیکییەکانی ئەم سیستەمە، لەوانە:
• کەمکردنەوەی کێشی مردووی (Dead Load) سەقفەکە.
• زیادکردنی مەودای نێوان ستوونەکان و فەراهەمکردنی ڕووبەری فراوانتر.
• کەمکردنەوەی تێچوو و پاراستنی ژینگە لە ڕێگەی بەکارهێنانی بڕێکی کەمتری کۆنکرێت.
سپاسی بێپایان بۆ سەرپەرشتیارانی پڕۆژەکە بۆ ڕەخساندنی ئەم دەرفەتە زانستییە.

On 27/04/2026, under the supervision of the Engineering College Dean, Dr. Sirwan Khurshid, the Vice Dean, Dr. Chro Haydar and Dr.Ahmed, a meeting was held to initiate activities and welcome new members for the 2025–2026 academic year. The session focused on outlining the chapter’s objectives, scope of work, and planned activities, as well as reviewing its progress. In addition, efforts were made to introduce new members to the organizational structure and operational framework of the chapter, ensuring a clear understanding of roles, responsibilities, and directions

‎ئەندازیاری، د. سیروان خورشید، و جێگری سەرۆک، د. چڕۆ حەیدەر وە دکتۆر ئەحمەد، کۆبوونەوەیەک ئەنجامدرا بۆ دەستپێکردنی چالاکییەکان و پێشوازی کردن لە ئەندامە نوێکان بۆ ساڵی خوێندنی 2025–2026. لە ماوەی کۆبوونەوەکەدا، باس لە ئامانج، کار و چالاکییەکانی چەپتەرەکە کرا، هەروەها پێشکەوتنەکانی تا ئێستا خرانە ڕوو. هەروەها ئەندامە نوێکان ئاشنا بکرێن بە ڕێکخستنی ناوخۆیی و شێوازی کارکردنی ڕێکخراوەکە، بۆ ئەوەی تێگەیشتنێکی ڕوون هەبێت لە ڕۆڵ و بەرپرسیارێتییەکان و ئاراستەی داهاتوو.

Scientific Field Trip | Central Park Sulaymaniyah

The final chapter of our two-day SDG11 Workshop took us from discussion rooms to real ground.

Our scientific field trip to Central Park Sulaymaniyah allowed students to experience what a sustainable community project looks like in practice — from green space planning and water-sensitive design to people-centered urban environments.

This visit helped students connect engineering theory with real challenges and real solutions, understanding that sustainability is not decoration, but function, identity, and responsibility.

Many thanks to Engineer Ramyar Muhammed, Engineer Zamwa Radha, and Engineer Miran (Founder of the Project) for their valuable time, technical insights, and continuous support in helping our students understand the vision behind this sustainable project.
