Our Year 9 students had a brilliant DofE Bronze expedition earlier this week, showing determination and teamwork throughout.

The group demonstrated real resilience on the walk, supporting one another at every stage. Camp life had a fantastic atmosphere, with excellent campcraft skills on display. It was a memorable experience and a great achievement for all involved. We are so proud of their effort, attitude, and independence. Well done to everyone who took part in this challenge and we look forward to their next adventure.

Yesterday, on the anniversary of General de Gaulle’s historic ‘Appel’ urging the French population to resist the German occupation during World War II, we commemorated his visit to Jersey and his iconic radio address.

As is tradition, at noon on June 18th, Head Boy, Oliver Bell, recited the text of the Appel. The ceremony was held at the De Gaulle memorial located at the north end of Albert Pier, attended by Victoria College CCF Halberdier Guard, the French Consul, and members of the public.

Inside a Year 7 Science Lesson

This week, our Year 7 scientists explored the fascinating world of physical and chemical changes through a hands-on investigation lesson.

Students began by learning the theory behind how substances can change. They discussed the key differences between physical changes, where no new substance is formed, and chemical changes, where a reaction produces one or more new substances.

To put their knowledge into practice, students each completed a series of 10 experiments in one single lesson, carefully recording observations, identify reactions and deciding on whether the change was physical or chemical.

Great teamwork observing and documenting and wonderful to see such enthusiasm and curiosity as students connected scientific theory with real-world chemical reactions.

Wonderful to see our students out on their Trident placements, such an important and valuable part of their careers education. Thank you to all those who made this possible.

A huge thank you to our placement providers for supporting our students throughout 2025/26. 👏

Trident student Joao Vieira has been hard at work preparing our Certificates of Appreciation, which will be landing with providers very soon!

When yours arrives, we'd love to see it on display. Share a photo, tag and let us celebrate your support together. 💛
