The Jamaican Institute of Quantity Surveyors

The JIQS was back in school today at Wolmer's Boys' School for their Careers' Day. We represented the profession of Quantity Surveying well as we educated the Third Form Cohort on this wonderful Career opportunity.

The JIQS remains committed to Continued Professional Development (CPD) and our members are in attendance at the 9th Caribbean Valuation & Construction Conference: Innovations and Experience Sharing in Building a Sustainable Future being hosted at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

It is with great sadness that The Jamaican Institute of Quantity Surveyors (JIQS) announces the passing of Mr. Maurice Stoppi.

Mr. Stoppi was a founding member of the JIQS, where he attained Life Member; our highest honour of membership. Mr. Stoppi was a Principal of Stoppi Cairney Bloomfield, Chartered Quantity Surveyors and Construction Cost Consultants. He was also a founding member of the Construction Industry Council of Jamaica (CIC). Mr. Stoppi will be remembered as an Arbitrator, Adjudicator, Expert Witness, Lecturer, Adviser, Author among others.

Our prayers are with his friends and family at this time.
