We are proud to celebrate the successful completion of the Sense of Africa Leadership Accelerator Programme, Module 1 delivered through the strategic partnership between Strathmore University School of Tourism and Hospitality and Sense of Africa.
Bringing together leaders from across East Africa, the programme was founded on a collaborative model that prioritized partnership, co-creation, and tailored learning experiences. Through a carefully customized approach, participants engaged in practical, action-oriented learning designed to address real workplace challenges and drive meaningful organizational outcomes.
A key highlight of the programme was the development of both individual and business action plans, enabling participants to translate insights into tangible leadership practices and measurable business impact. The level of engagement, openness, and commitment demonstrated by the cohort throughout the journey was truly inspiring.
This experience reinforces the importance of leadership development programmes that are relevant, experiential, and closely aligned with the realities of today's dynamic business environment.
As we conclude this phase, we are excited about the next chapter. Through the upcoming coaching engagements and the rollout of Module II, we look forward to deepening the learning journey and continuing to support leaders in driving transformation, innovation, and organizational excellence across the region.
Together, we are building stronger leaders, stronger organizations, and a stronger future for the tourism and hospitality industry in East Africa.

At Strathmore University, Service to Society is more than a value; it is a commitment we live out through meaningful action.
Recently, our Community Outreach Programme under the Community Service Department embarked on a mission to transform lives through mentorship.
From the classrooms of Samburu to the schools of Kitui and Mwingi, mentorship became more than a conversation; it became a connection.
Over the past few weeks, our student, COP volunteers engaged hundreds of young learners through Community Outreach Camps focused on mentorship, guidance, and personalized support.
In Samburu, a 4-day camp brought us alongside students at Irene School, Good Shepherd Seminary School, and St. Michael's School. In Kitui and Mwingi, our teams spent two weeks reaching more than 15 schools, offering one-on-one mentorship and creating spaces where every learner felt seen, heard, and encouraged.
These experiences remind us that meaningful change begins with service, presence, and a genuine investment in the potential of others.
Thank you to the schools, communities, volunteers, and students who made this journey possible.

Africa is bursting with brilliant ideas.
From clean energy innovations in Kenya to healthcare solutions in Tanzania and youth employment programmes in Uganda, entrepreneurs are tackling some of the continentโs biggest challenges every day.
Yet, nearly 90% of startups fail within five years.
This , we share insights from Victoria Gichuki and Dr. William Murithi Ph.D. FHEA. CMBE. on how startups can improve their chances of success through three powerful tools:
โ
Theory of Change
โ
Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
โ
Social Return on Investment (SROI)
These tools help innovators answer critical questions:
1๏ธโฃWhat problem are we solving?
2๏ธโฃ How do we know we're making a difference?
3๏ธโฃ What value are we creating for society?
The future belongs to founders who can not only dream boldly, but also demonstrate impact clearly.
