Channelling Our Awareness: Ancestral Eldership: The concept of rank, power, and privilege

Ghosts of Rank and Privilege
This seminar invites us to dive deeper into dreaming and practice dimensions of Process Work through the lenses of rank and power potentials while reconnecting with the wisdom and teachings of our ancestors. Together, we explore the experiences of different generations, from Gen Z to Millennials, midlifers, late bloomers and the young in heart of any age, uncovering new insights while remembering the ways African communities once learned, related, and lived together before colonization and disconnections.

We journey together over the seminar days, and unshackle ourselves from limiting beliefs across cultural and systemic differences in education, learning, and identity alongside African facilitators from Kenya: Daisy Nduku from Eastern Kenya, Smith Mboya from Western Kenya, and Julia Wolfson from Australia. Together, we will play and experiment with moving beyond limitations of social power and rank into deeper human connection, and collective understanding using inner allies and awareness powers as unshackling gifts that we all have access to.

In gathering together, we return to the wisdom of our ancestors, to Eldership. Through this highly interactive and experiential learning event, participants will discover the beauty, resilience, and potential of the inner powers that remain available to us even in seemingly impossible situations.

Sending love and warmth from Nairobi, Kenya! 💛
It feels just like a small child who got candy for the first time and we want to share that sweetness with the world :)

We are still cherishing the sweetness of our recent experience as we launched the DDI Kenya Process Work School, titled “Breaking the Shell,” on March 28-29. We warmly invite you to join us on this journey through our 2-year program in Kenya, where we will explore growth, culture, and transformation through Process Work. You are welcome here!

It was a tender, honest, and deeply human experience, allowing us to gently meet parts of ourselves that we’ve long held back and find the courage to open up together.

We are grateful to Desmond Smith and Eve Daizy for creating and facilitating such a heartfelt space. This is just the beginning 🌱

Transition, Inner Toolkits & Coloring Outside the Lines – A Weekend of Learning and Connection ✨
DDI Kenya community came together for a transformative seminar facilitated by Daisy Nduku and Julia Wolfson, exploring Transitions, Finding Your Inner Toolkit, and Coloring Outside the Lines. Participants engaged in powerful learning experiences — discovering their inner toolkits and “vitamins,” finding what grounds them in turbulent times, and working with Process Work concepts such as Slow Power and Ghost Roles. The Open Forum on Coloring Outside the Lines offered deeply moving insights, with panelists Christine Kuria (TinTin), Mildred Opondo, and Joseph Odupoi sharing their personal and professional journeys. From caregiving and women’s leadership to community resilience among the Maasai, their stories beautifully illuminated how Process Work comes alive in everyday life and action. We extend heartfelt appreciation to everyone who made this seminar possible — our face-to-face facilitation team , and our online team and Stephanie Bachmair — for holding and connecting the space so beautifully. Deep gratitude as well to Worldwork Journalism for providing the hybrid session platform, and to the wider DDI International community for their continued support.. Special thanks to our DDI Diplomats for their dedicated learning and facilitation, and to the DDI Alliance for the ongoing collaboration that strengthens our global network. We also express deep gratitude to our teachers Max and Ellen Schupbach, whose vision and guidance continue to weave together the DDI Kenya and DDI International communities. Their commitment to creating global learning bridges allows practitioners and students across continents to share experiences, deepen learning, and grow through Process Work. 🌍💫It was a weekend filled with curiosity, empathy, playfulness, and shared discovery — a beautiful reminder of the transformative power of community learning

In life, we often see people living within what seems like a tightly defined world. Invisible lines mark where we are “supposed” to stand, guiding how we think, act, and dream. We’re told not to color outside those lines when it comes to change. It’s easy to imagine that those with money or influence live freely—but they, too, move within invisible boundaries shaped by expectations.
Look closely, and you’ll notice that life is divided into layers—those with less, those in between, and those with more. These invisible lines don’t just define access to power or opportunity; they also shape how we see ourselves and others.
Yet, here’s the deeper truth: the ground has never truly been level. The goalposts keep shifting. And still—through every shift, your essence endures. You’ve learned, adapted, evolved, not out of weakness but out of strength. There is courage in resilience, and beauty in reinvention. There is nothing wrong with coloring outside the lines when life keeps redrawing them.
Now, imagine this: what if we stopped fearing those invisible boundaries and started dancing with them? What if we dreamed so boldly that it scared us—and then brought those dreams to life? Not just for ourselves, but for our families, our communities, and yes—for the world.

DDI KENYA DEPTH COACHING
Our Coaching Program
The DDI Kenya Coaching Program and Diploma program is a diverse learning initiative that is open to learners from across East Africa and the wider African region. We bring together a diversity of coaches through culture both from Kenya and around the world to support learners through depth-coaching sessions.
This program creates a space to deepen coaching awareness: how to prepare and choose an issue for coaching, how to sort out an issue to bring forward during a session, and how to know if you are ready for coaching. It also emphasizes the importance of confidentiality, supervision during coaching, building an honest and mutual coaching relationship, and developing your inner facilitator and coach within the unique context of your own situation.
Through guidance, encouragement, and accountability, the program ensures that people feel supported, awakened, connected, and empowered to access their inner toolkit throughout life’s journey. By complementing therapeutic progress with Process Work depth-coaching, it supports individuals not only to recover, but also to grow, build resilience, and realize the full potential they were born with.

06/10/2025

The DDI Kenya 2-Year Programme is designed as a bridge—a Processwork journey that connects learners from Global North and Global South while also bridging our diverse cultures within Kenya. In our country, where many tribes, languages, and races coexist, this programme celebrates that diversity and transforms it into strength.

What makes our programme unique is our approach to learning. We draw from the wisdom of our ancestors and traditional ways of knowing, while also embracing the spirit of the new generation—exploration, openness, and the courage to speak out. This integration of the old and the new allows us to create a learning environment that is both rooted and forward-looking.

At the heart of the programme is the belief that competence grows through reflection and practice. That’s why we emphasise:

Self-paced learning, anchored in self-evaluation

Coaching and mentorship that support personal and professional growth

Meta-skills development, preparing learners not just for today’s tasks but for lifelong adaptability

We welcome all who are eager to learn, grow, and co-create a future where diversity is celebrated, bridges of understanding are built.
