For the past six years, the Ajira Digital Program has been opening doors for young people across Kenya to participate in the global digital economy.
Through digital skills training and access to online work opportunities, hundreds of thousand young Kenyans are building new livelihoods regardless of where they live.
From young women pursuing economic independence, to persons with disabilities accessing new opportunities, to refugees and youth in remote communities finding pathways to online work; Ajira Digital continues to ensure that no young person is left behind in the digital age.

Students at The Eldoret National Polytechnic Ajira Digital Club are showing what is possible when digital skills meet ambition.
While studying, they are actively earning through online work. But they did not stop there.
Together, they have developed a Club Website, introduced a Job Board Platform to fast track online job opportunities for members, and built an Electronic Campus Voting System to digitize student elections.
This is youth led digital transformation in action.

As Chairperson of the Ajira Digital Club at Emining Technical Training Institute in Baringo, Simon took the bold step to learn forex trading through the Ajira Digital Program. What started as curiosity has now become a real income opportunity and a powerful life skill.

Winnie Birir is a Diploma in IT student at Emining Technical Training Institute and the vice chairperson of the Ajira Digital Club at the sititution.
After gaining practical digital skills through the club, Winnie started working online and earning an income while still in college. She invested part of her earnings in poultry farming, helping her cover her upkeep and contribute to her school fees.
Winnie is also a committed peer mentor who actively supports fellow club members, guiding them to access and secure online gigs.
Her story is a clear reminder that online work is real work, and digital opportunities are not limited by location.

Over 70% of trained young women have secured work through paid apprenticeships, freelance online jobs, and digital entrepreneurship.
This is the power of intentional partnerships driving inclusion, dignity, and impact in underserved communities.
Hon. Owen Baya, MP for Kilifi North, has equippe Ajira Youth Empowerment Centres with state-of-the-art computers, workspaces, and high-speed internet, giving youth the tools to thrive in Kenya’s digital economy.
