Last Friday, 5th December 2025, we gathered for The Oasis Experience Dinner at Muthaiga Golf Club for an evening that became far more than a shared meal.

Under the theme “When Culture Refuses to Let Go – Divorce, Dowry & Dilemmas,” facilitated by Shalom Munyiri we created a safe space for honest talk unpacking the complex intersection of culture, relationships, and healing.

Sharing as divorcees, single parents, and singles preparing for future partnerships, we reflected on how personal choices, cultural expectations, and past relationships shape the way we love and rebuild, acknowledging the generational impact on and from our choices.

What unfolded was a night of laughter, truth-telling, vulnerability, and deep insight - a reminder that moving forward after the loss of a relationship requires intention, courage, and a willingness to rewrite our story.

Anthony Hutia and , you are doing an amazing job.

Ladies’ Pyjama Evening at Potterhouse School - An inspiring night for girls and their mums.

The Potterhouse School recently hosted a vibrant Ladies’ Pyjama Evening for high school girls from Year 7–13 (ages 11–18) together with their mums and female caregivers. The theme of the night, “Who Am I?”, sparked powerful conversations around identity and the expectations placed on girls and women in today’s society.

The evening began with small group breakaway sessions, followed by a warm shared dinner. The highlight of the night was an interactive main session facilitated by Shalom Munyiri, who guided the girls and their mums through an engaging exploration of self-awareness and personal values.

During the session, she introduced ICE (Influence, Coercion, Exploitation) as key dangers young people face, and the practical framework MELT (Mindfulness, Education, Leverage, Telling Someone) as tools to safeguard themselves.

A creative reflection activity saw participants draw a personal “Tree”, using the symbols to uncover what their roots, branches, and fruits reveal about identity and inner strengths.

The top takeaways from the evening were:
✅ Everyone is unique - each girl brings her own value to the world.
✅ Self-knowledge is powerful; strengths help us contribute, and asking for help strengthens us even more.
✅ Values matter - when we stay true to them, others learn to respect and even adopt them.
