Our long-serving registrar, Mrs. Arao, launched a book on March 7, 2026, in Nairobi.
The book, titled From Humble Beginnings to Greatness: The Case Study of Daystar University, is a project she undertook in 2011 to ensure that past and future generations of Daystar students have a book that documents the University's origins, all the way from the history of its founders to where the University is now.
The book covers the 25 years she worked at Daystar (1987 to 2012) and tells the story of Daystar's growth through her eyes. The book is also a great read for those who may want to start a learning institution - that they need not start big, and that the school will not grow overnight.
Mrs. Arao is now reaching out to the various alumni chapters of Daystar to ensure that as many alumni as possible are aware of the book's launch and its availability.
For those who may want a copy, please reach out to the DUAA Secretariat via the number: +254727606567 and speak to either Marion or Walter who will be happy to assist you to get a copy.
You can also email the DUAA team: [email protected] and you will be advised on how to get a copy of the book.
The book is going for KSh.2,595.

On Saturday, the Daystar University Alumni Association convened for its 2026 Annual General Convention.
The hybrid meeting marked a clear state of ownership as Alumni turned up to participate and contribute to issues pertinent to the association, institution, and students.
From reviewing progress and official reports to hard conversations on strategic priorities and the proposed constitutional review, there was a clear readiness to take responsibility for what comes next.
The emerging conversations will shape next steps through action and accountability.
We would like to express deep gratitude to every alumnus who showed up and contributed.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Laban Ayiro reminded the alumni community, “Alumni are extended hands of the course of Daystar across the world. You are faithful hands, your success in society is Daystar’s testimony. Stand with your University, defend its values, invest in its future, and pray for its leadership.”

For years, the dream of a Chapel at the heart of Daystar University University has lived in the hearts of students, alumni, staff, and friends of the University. Today, that dream is rising.
This Chapel will be a place of prayer, worship, hope, guidance, and growth for generations of young people. A place where lives will be changed, faith strengthened, and leaders shaped.
So far, We still need Ksh. 179 million to complete this special project.
We warmly invite Daystar alumni, friends of Daystar, partners, parents, and all persons of goodwill to be part of this journey. No contribution is too small. Every gift helps bring this vision closer to completion.
One day, a student you may never meet will find hope, prayer, direction, and purpose in this Chapel because you chose to give. That is the kind of legacy that lives on for generations.
Together, we can build something lasting at the heart of Daystar University.

Eight decades of political defiance, negotiation, and reinvention left a mark that still shapes Kenya’s democratic space.
This August, leading voices gather to examine a legacy shaped by resistance, negotiation, and lasting institutional impact. Raila Odinga’s influence continues to shape conversations on democracy, governance, and public accountability across Kenya and the continent.
His passing marked the end of an era. What remains is the responsibility to question, to engage, and to carry forward the work his journey set in motion.

He taught with conviction, led with humility, and served with uncommon grace.
Prof. James Kombo leaves behind more than titles and institutions. He leaves a living legacy of wisdom poured into minds, faith anchored in service, and leadership that quietly transformed lives.
He shaped people, not just classrooms. He built character, not just careers. And in doing so, he left a mark that time will not erase.
We honor a life deeply lived, faithfully given, and generously shared.
Rest well, Professor. Your impact endures.
