Kidogo's Susan Mtana moderated a session on 'Unlocking Public Finance for Childcare' at the 6th Legistlative summit. The session focused on Legistlative, Representation & Oversight Barriers with various stakeholders from the national & county government, a childcare provider and Childcare ecosystem players . We got commitment that the County Assemblies and State Department for Children Services will legislate County Childcare Laws, and prioritize funding for childcare services. Additionally, MCAs need sensitization on childcare matters through the County Assemblies Forum and relevant stakeholders in the space.

On Friday, 14th November 2025, we hosted the Kidogo Annual Gala Celebration, an inspiring day that brought together our amazing childcare givers, Kidogo staff, partners, and representatives from the National and County Governments (Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos and Kajiado).
We especially appreciate Nairobi City County for providing our Chief Guest, Hon. Brian Mulama, CECM for Talent, Skills Development & Care, whose leadership added great momentum to the day. As always, the Gala was a special moment to celebrate our caregivers, reflect on our 2025 milestones, and strengthen the movement to dignify and professionalize childcare across Kenya.
Let's continue to empowering each other, elevating the childcare sector, and shining together!

On the 6th and 7th of November, we successfully held Kidogo Galas across Mombasa, Kilifi, Kisumu, Busia, Eldoret and Nakuru. As always, it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our achievements and incredible caregivers who are the heroes tirelessly caring for over 55,000 children in safe, stimulating spaces, giving working mums peace of mind every day. And did you notice how smartly dressed they were?
We celebrate our caregivers, partners, staff, friends, and government officials for walking this journey with us. Let’s keep empowering each other and shining together!

On 25th October Kidogo joined the Kiratina and Lurambi communities in Nakuru & Kakamega Counties to celebrate the Global Handwashing Day, a reminder that simple habits like washing hands with clean water and soap can keep our families safe and healthy.
We’re grateful to the community members who turned up in large numbers dancing, learning and sharing practical lessons on handwashing and hygiene. Your energy and participation remind us that lasting change truly begins at home.
We also appreciate the continued support from the National Government Administration and our partners across the County Departments of Health, Education, Gender, Culture and Social Services, whose collaboration makes such impactful engagements possible. At Kidogo, we remain committed to creating awareness and inspiring everyday actions that promote hygiene, good nutrition and quality care for our little ones.

On Saturday we were in Ahero, Kisumu County, having a truly rich community engagement with our incredible ECD educators, parents and caregivers. (Remarkably, nearly the entire plenary and program were conducted in Dholuo! 🤔 It was an unforgettable experience.) Our guests and Kidogo staff presenters delivered powerful, insightful messages all rooted in the Nurturing Care Framework, a globally recognized roadmap focused on ensuring children receive the care and support they need to thrive physically, emotionally, and cognitively from early childhood. A heartfelt thank you to everyone whose dedication made this day such a success! 🙌

We are thrilled to share the great success of our recent community sensitization forums on Positive Discipline, held in Nairobi’s Mowlem and Busia’s Airstrip communities. We brought together childcare givers, parents, community members, and government officials from both counties.
It was inspiring to witness the lively and inclusive conversations, with participants eager to learn and actively engage. These rich interactions truly made the day memorable.
