As we begin summer break, the ISB Main Office will remain open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from 22 June through 14 August.

We hope all of our students and families enjoy a restful and enjoyable summer!

We are excited to welcome both new and returning families to our ISB Family Welcome Day on Monday, 17 August, as we come together to begin another exciting school year.

What a wonderful way to close another school year at ISB.

Our End of Year Assembly celebrated the achievements, talents, and contributions of students across the school community. From a fantastic performance by ISB Band XXI to the presentation of the House Cup, it was a memorable afternoon filled with pride, recognition, and school spirit. Congratulations to Hallasan House on this year's House Cup victory!

We also took time to thank the students and staff who are leaving ISB and wish them all the best in their next chapter.

As we look back on an incredible year, we are grateful for all that our community has accomplished together. Have a wonderful summer, Bears! 🐻

🏆 Sports Awards Ceremony 2026 🏆

What a fantastic afternoon celebrating the achievements, dedication, and school spirit of our student athletes.

From outstanding performances and team successes to perseverance, leadership, and sportsmanship, the ceremony recognized the many ways our students represented ISB both on and off the field.

Congratulations to our Athletes of the Year and all award recipients on an exceptional season. We were also grateful to hear inspiring words from Dr. Gilbert Kaburu, whose message reminded us that success in sport is built on hard work, discipline, and resilience.

A huge thank you to our coaches, families, and everyone who supported our athletics programme throughout the year. We are proud of all that our student athletes have accomplished!

ISB Global Citizenship Award 2026

As Global citizens, we recognize that we are all responsible for the global community and our planet. Global citizens are committed to understanding the multiple perspectives of local and global events and issues. At ISB, we learn about the real world, engage in meaningful service learning, and challenge ignorance, intolerance and injustice. We are unified and respectful in our diversity. We respect and value the languages, cultures, traditions and personal histories of all members of our community. Global citizens and intercultural learners strive to be honest, fair and respect the dignity and rights of everyone.

The ISB Global Citizenship Award is presented to a student who embraces the qualities of a globally-minded citizen. This student is a proud representative of their own country while being respectful of the diversity of others. They demonstrate open-mindedness, are concerned for others in encouraging a sense of community, and are committed to engagement and action to make the world a better place.

The recipient of the 2026 ISB Global Citizenship Award is Diego Duran Urdaneta.

2026 ISB Student Leadership Award

We can all agree that the ability to bring people together for a common good and help teams align their collective direction is a valuable trait. Leaders articulate a clear vision, establish achievable goals, and provide team members with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve those goals. An effective leader is self-confident, has strong communication and management skills, is creative and innovative in their thinking, perseverant, willing to take risks, and open to change.

ISB’s Student Leadership Award is presented to a student who exemplifies these leadership traits. This student leads in the classroom, through leadership in clubs, extracurricular activities, and on sports teams. This student is recognized by faculty and peers to be a leader who helps others and brings people together to improve the school.

The recipient of the 2026 ISB Student Leadership Award is Taehee Lee.

ISB Salutatorian 2026

This year, Haruhi Shoji has been awarded the honor of Salutatorian, having achieved the second-highest grade point average in the graduating class. This year, Euijin Kwak has been awarded the honor of Valedictorian, having achieved the highest grade point average in the graduating class. Grade 5 Stepping Into Middle School
Last week, our grade five students stepped into the Secondary School for a tour of their soon-to-be classrooms. During the tour, students explored a variety of learning spaces across the Secondary School, including subject-specific classrooms, collaborative learning areas, and common student spaces. Mr. Horkan shared insights into life in the MYP, explaining how learning is organised, what students can expect in Grade 6, and the many opportunities available to them both academically and beyond the classroom.

The tour provided a valuable opportunity to address uncertainties and helped students gain a clearer understanding of the expectations and experiences ahead. This is an important milestone in our transition unit, supporting students as they reflect on change and develop strategies for navigating new experiences.

Grade 3 Camp Success!
The Grade 3 camp at the Busan Science Museum was a huge success and provided students with many exciting and memorable learning experiences. During the camp, students participated in a range of fun activities and had the opportunity to explore the night sky using telescopes of different sizes. They also learned how to identify Jupiter and Venus with the naked eye in the Busan night sky.
Students also enjoyed creating their own small telescopes after exploring the museum's interactive exhibitions. This camp sparked curiosity, excitement, and lots of fun throughout the visit. It was wonderful to see students so engaged, inquisitive, and enthusiastic during the experience.
