Takaharu and Yui Tezuka of Tezuka Architects will deliver a keynote lecture on 12 July 2026 at 16:00 in Yonsei University Engineering Building 3, C040.

Lecture title: Architecture of Life

What makes architecture feel truly alive and comfortable? This lecture explores the Tezukas’ philosophy through three decades of practice, including Fuji Kindergarten and Roof House. It considers architecture not as a static object, but as a living environment that breathes, weathers, and evolves with human life. Through ideas of openness, trust, nature, and everyday experience, the lecture reflects on how architecture can foster freedom, dignity, and joy, allowing people and the world around them to unfold together.

AAVS Seoul 2026 explores what has emerged from Seoul’s social, spatial, and territorial realities through research, documentation, and design.
This year‘s programme is organised into three units:
Unit 1: Hidden Urban Structures and Operations
Unit 2: The Korean Apartment
Unit 3: Reclaimed Materials

Through the comparative study of informal urban fabrics, architectural typologies, and material ecosystems, the workshop expands our understanding of what has emerged — and continues to emerge — in Seoul.
